If you use the Zidoo player than yes - exactly the same. However I think you can choose to use Kodis own player - to that I don't know.

I already know that from ZDMC you can choose the two players, but I wanted to know if there are differences between the two players (zidoo player vs zdmc/kodi player)?

Zidoo player is hardware, ZDMC (Kodi) native player is software....pretty sure.

No, Zidoo player uses the hardware, Kodi player uses software (which is fine for SD quality .avi and .mpeg files of DVD rips).

i got my z9x 8k and zdmc works like a charm with series and movies, it's the zidoo player that supports...

    Hello, friends,
When I watch a video with zdmc (“Artic resurection” skin) it's not marked as “watched” when it's finished, but it is on HT5.
I suppose there isn't a solution for this to be indicated on ZDMC as well ... ?

Is the link in the OP (won't post if I add the link) still correct, if I click it in Chrome it opens a window and quickly closes it and nothing downloads. Nothings shows in CTRL+J (downloads) either. I just got the Z9X 8K so I'm trying to set up KODI.

Right-Click and save as works - just tested.

For ZDMC users with Z9X 8K, can you make a backup of the media library? In my case, it says "error: make sure you're not write-protected".
I've tried a single file and the other, in my HDD, in the documented folder of the internal storage...nothing works..maybe I forgot to do something...
    Thanks for your answers.

    @Markswift2003 :
whether with ZDMC or KODI, it's impossible to make a backup of the media library, as everything is write-locked.
Is there anything I need to do, or is it possible to push this to the zidoo service?

Although now a side project that gets occasional updates, ZDMC has not been officially supported for over 7 years and KODI has never been supported, so I have no idea. Not something I ever get involved with.

Well it was a major reason I bought the Zidoo device. The v21 version (can't be 7 years old...) works pretty good so far. I hope they continue to release updates as KODI is very popular, and so far I can't see any remotely usable player on the device itself.

As for backing it up, The Zido has a SAMBA server, you can probably access all you to backup need via that (file:////zidoo.ip/Share/Storage/Android/data/com.zidoo.zdmc/...).

Even though I like HT5, which lacks, for me, one essential point: displaying only the “unwatched” no matter what folder we're browsing, I find Zdmc 21 very good (and version 21, Omega, isn't 7 years old it seems) but Kodi 21.2 is very good too and very responsive 3sec for everything to load.
However, can you explain how you back up the media library ... because it's blocking me.
Recovering files via samba is fine, but backing up the media library always tells me “error check write protection”.
    Thanks

I actually missed the media player (which I assume is HT5), the label said posters so I assumed it was image related :) As you say, you can't create filtered views like you can in Kodi and "unwatched" and "recently updated unwatched" are two KODI views I always favourite, I don't use most of the rest of the interface. So far TV only but I need to do that for movies also. I tried to set up a filter in the zidoo player but it immediately forgets it and there appears to be no way to save the view as a button. If it had that who knows maybe I wouldn't need KODI.

Anyway what I said was theoretical, I haven't tried to see if I can access all files in the location I mentioned (but the library should be there somewhere), but if so you should be able to use robocopy (or manually in Explorer) in Windows to keep a local backup in sync. I have used SAMBA to update playlists from my computer. Even if not required you may wish to completely exit Kodi before copying files, although your message is a bit cryptic if you are reading them. I'd copy to a new directory to eliminate the possibility you have one of the DESTINATION files in use, also robocopy or similar would allow for restarting/resuming copies and may display better error messages. Thats all I've got!

I'm glad to read that you like kodi's watched and unwatched management, because when I ask for it for HT (4 and 5)...I feel a bit lonely....
    About copies:
Here's what I did before, copy all the kodi folders to save and put them back on a new installation..but the thing that wasn't reproduced was the list of videos watched or not watched, the movies with their different versions..and it's quite long to redo... That's why I'd like to be able to back up my video library.

I read your comment but from what I've read Kodi 21 is more a new version than an update...and ZDMC has been pushed to 21....so if zidoo hasn't officially supported ZDMC for 7 years, who pushed version 21? Because for me, an update is still support.
Maybe it's a zidoo member doing it for fun?
Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the meaning of your sentence.
I'm not looking for a quarrel, I'm just trying to understand....

I always joke that I have to repeat this every 6 months or so, but ZDMC has not been officially supported since HT was introduced and the apk was removed from the firmware soon after.

I'm not sure who updates it (I have an idea :) ) but it's a side project and is not officially supported. Basically yes, a Zidoo member doing it for fun.

    Okay, that explains it...
I didn't know because I didn't use ZDMC before...and I must admit it's very good...it just lacks the "watched" indication when using the Zidoo player...
So just in case has the one who makes ZDMC..it would be nice if you could fix this tiny little concern....
    Best regards

For ZDMC's users, can you make a médiathec backup?
