Odd. This version is supposed to be for the new chipset. I've seen folks say it's not working on the Z9X, Z9Xpro, Z9x8k, but, on my Z1000pro, works the same as previous versions of ZDMC. Common theme? To my simple mind, that might imply that certain models have different naming conventions on the internal player.
The java class name of the Zidoo internal player is different between z9x pro and z9x 8k at least that’s a given. I found that out with my testing of plextozidoo with bowlingbeeg. But Zidoo probably does a if old gen then use class name x else use class name y. That’s what bowlingbeeg implemented for PlextoZidoo after some help from a Zidoo dev.
What I mean is... When you already installed skin, you can't switch to other skin or switch to other one...
Not a problem for me. I tweaked the Rapier skin so it now works in Kodi V21 and I can switch between Aeon Nox and Rapier. I have tried this on my ZX 8K, ZX9BPD, Z3000 Pro, Z1o00 and Z2000Pro with ZDMC v21 and no problem at all!
Hi all, got my Z3000 Pro. I want to restore my backup from ZDMC 20 from my old Z9X into this ZDMC 21 in the Z3000 Pro, but I’m getting this error: Looks like ZDMC 21 doesn’t have write permission on internal or external storage. The Android settings have been hidden by Zidoo, so how do I open the write permission to ZDMC 21?
Are you using the Kodi backup app to save and then restore? It saves all library updates, so it must have write permission.
...and the watched flag now works. Mine is set in the advancedsettings.xml file at 90% and now it is recognised.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, permission issue as mentioned. I’ve done this before on my old Z9X when I reset to factory setting and reinstall ZDMC. It had write permission so there wasn’t a problem. I don’t want to rescan scan everything again and I have custom categories and icons. Found advanced settings, all permissions allowed the whole time. I will try to copy the backup directory into the Android setting path.
Are you using Kodi player or external? Because if using external player (Zidoo) ZDMC had no idea if you’ve watched a movie/show. Do you mind sharing the path to the advancedsettings.xml and what to change?
Managed to run restore my backup. You need to type the path instead of browsing. Weird, this means it had write access all the time, just can’t select by browsing. Running now, almost 10 GB to restore will update if it’s successful or not.
Alright finally got it to work, well almost. You need to restore on the same version of ZDMC as the one the backup was created on. Either upgrade on the old device to 21, or install the same old version on the new device first, restore and then upgrade to 21. In the Backup app during restore on the new device, in settings do not set remote directory to Browse Path but instead set to Type Path and then type the full path of your external disk. Must use the disk UUID, not disk name i.e. Code: /storage/0D12345A0D12345A/directoryname You can get the disk UUID when you browse the disk on the device on your computer via Samba. Once you do that only then you can use Restore and it will find your backup directory. Restore as usual. Please note if you have customised categories/collections and/or icons and poster you must have them ready at the same path as the old device, whether the internal disk or external (must be same path and on same disk). And then comes to the bug that the ZDMC is playing using Kodi player instead of Zidoo’s. @mirror , you might want to take a look at this. From my troubleshooting, this only happens when playing directly in the home view of Movies category, nowhere else. If you play a movie in a group or collection, or anywhere outside the home view it will correctly call for Zidoo’s player. So I don’t know if it’s bug by Kodi, or something Zidoo can fix as part of the ZDMC fork. I haven’t had native Kodi installed on my computer or any other devices to check since I owned the Z9X 4 years ago. I hope Zidoo can fix this from their side, otherwise we’ll have to wait for Kodi to fix it and then wait again until Zidoo make a new ZDMC fork. But there’s a workaround, reliable but absolutely temporary. This must be fixed. 1. In the home view select the movie poster and push the menu button on the remote, then select Play. It will always use Zidoo’s player. 2. (OPTIONAL) You might be forgeting to push the menu button, go to ZDMC settings, in Media go to Videos and at Default Select Action change from Play to Choose. So every time you select a poster and push PLAY* or OK on the remote, instead of starting to play it will prompt you to choose what to do. Just push OK again right away on the remote and it will always play with Zidoo’s player. Not ideal and can be annoying this will happen everywhere even on TV show episodes which will never use Kodi’s player anway, but this will make sure that it will always use Zidoo’s player. I hope this can be useful to others and will give some clues to the devs. *The PLAY button for now reserved for Music app. PS: I forgot to turn off the display so that’s fine, but is there a way to turn off the lights on the power button of the Z3000 Pro? Or at least dim.
Great to hear, that ZDMC is still worked on! But may i hope for ZDMC 21.x for other players than the AML S928x range as well?
It doesn’t call zidoo player from online add-on, it uses kodi player. If I play video from my external usb, the zidoo player will be used. Don’t know why, but who use zdmc for offline files?
Most of us do, that’s why we’re here Zidoo is meant for offline video files and that’s what ZDMC is customised for. It’s far superior than HT5 in library management. We own other boxes or use the TV apps for online streaming videos. And myself even with Zidoo can stream music I use an EverSolo for music streaming.
I do cause I don't steel free movies and TV shows dude!! Most of us have offline content. That is the only reason to buy a zidoo product. It will never use the zidoo player for online content.
Probably someone who is used to Kodi and likes how the library looks. I also use Kodi Coreelec box alongside my Z9X Pro and Kodi is more stable, especially with stuttering and TrueHD playback.
Good evening. I am intending to purchase this model, but reading some posts I am in confusion regarding the ZDMC version dedicated to this model. What is not clear to me is whether this version of ZDMC automatically uses the native Zidoo player by default as in the old Z9X model. Thanks
Sorry to jump into this thread, but it is active, so doesn't seem that out of place to ask... So here is my question for any of you geniuses or geeks who might know So I have the original Z9X and ZDMC 20.2 installed and was wondering if just like when I play a local file, the player can be made to kick in and convert any source material (sdr etc) into a sudo Dolby Vision output.,,, My question is, does anybody know if there is a way to do the same for files that are being streamed off the net? At present, when I stream properly encoded DV content off the net, it outputs perfect DV, but SDR and HDR still displays in those formats, even though I have the display sdr / hdr content as dolby vision in the player settings, it doesn't do that when streaming. Thanks for any help on this
