    Very happy with the box.
Bluray menu's are much better, not perfect..but much better
Multichannel audio (music) and atmos in m4a is working.
Love the addition of internet radio.
Smartube runs in 4k and hdr

Only thing i noticed till now..is that the UV meter in fullscreen changes 2 times resolution and then calms down.

And just saw the ' is shown as a symbol in artist names. For example "KK's priest" will be "KK L s priest"

SmartTube works in HDR for you? I doesn't for me. What settings enabled that? Cheers.

From my side (I also have Ugoos AM8 Pro- S928X-J with Amlogic/ 64gb/8gb) after three days of play I see similar high speed of both devices. For now I found one bug. When using another launcher (e.g. Nova or ATV) you can't add a widget to the desktop (e.g. weather). I connect several disks that I have without problems.

    I think av1 + hdr.

If you look up a hdr movie. While playing it, press arrow up. Menu pops up. Go te HQ. Than video formats 4k av1 hdr. I also put buffer on high

Ps. The regular Kodi 21 plays most dtuf pretty well also. On 4k a little stutter because all settings are not there yet (frame rate/size). But hdr, atmos and dv work.

Warning: the setting of the audio output in HDMi must be 'auto' for best sound quality!!
In RAW I noticed a month of good quality, especially for the 'aac' format which comes out in PCM......on the other hand in 'AUTO' it comes out in LPCM and that is easily heard!!

Got a replacement Z9X 8k , it has the same whine as the previous player, It disappears when I pass it through e-arc, am going to experiment with a splitter too.

I prefer the sound when my processor decodes the original bitstream. Maybe with your processor it's better to let the Z9X do the decoding but the same may not be true for everyone.

'LPCM allows you to vary the resolution up to 24 bits and the sampling frequency up to 96 kHz unlike the classic PCM format which uses a fixed resolution of 16 bits and an equally fixed sampling frequency of 48 kHz.'
You can really hear the difference!

"And just saw the ' is shown as a symbol in artist names. For example "KK's priest" will be "KK L s priest"

this seems to be fixed in the latest firmware

I'm not getting your point. My processor plays a 96/24 bitstreamat as 96/24, a 48/24 as 48/24 and an Atmos bitstream as Atmos. And changing the setting from Raw to Auto does not change what goes to my processor. It still reports the exact same incoming stream whether I select Raw or Auto.

If you don't hear a difference by ear...you give up!

Just sayin' a lossless codec is lossless. What goes in is exactly what comes out. The same 1's and 0's and in the same order. Now maybe you're talking about older discs that had non lossless codecs that came before DTS:MA and Dolby TrueHD and also included a lossless LPCM 5.1 track. But even then, changing the Z9X 8K from Raw to Auto does not force that LPCM 5.1 track to play. You can change it to whatever you want during playback and what I choose seems to stick for the next time I play that disk. Many newer discs don't even have an LPCM 5.1 so where is it coming from for you?

I missing the delay option by changing the refresh rate. That was an option in the setting from the older models (z9x / z9x pro ). It is possible to add this feature again to the new z9x 8k? My Projector need some time to switch

Are you talking about the setting in Settings > Audio > HDMI Setting > Delay Playback?

No, that is a another function only for audio

I see, I just looked at my Z2600 and there is Settings > Playback > Auto Frame Rate > Frame Rate Pause. But there isn't a delay setting in the Audio section on the Z2600. Looks like they added audio delay and removed frame rate delay.

Audio delay is a function to balance the image/sound synchronization, especially when processing external audio systems, for example with a USB Dac etc. This is configured in milliseconds. This setting was already somewhat hidden in the Z9X under Playback -> Function Keys -> Up and Down Keys -> Audio Offset. Audio Delay has nothing to do with the frame rate pause, which is configured in seconds and just waits for the time to switch the frame rate and then lets play the movie normaly. This function is missing on Z9X 8K :(. At the moment must switch to pause after play the movie and wait few seconds.

    @Markswift2003
It is possible to inform the developer to add this missing feature "Frame Rate Pause"' from the older Zidoo models (Z9X, Z9X Pro) to the new Z9X 8K again?

I asked about that and the answer was because frame rate switching in the 928 is fast enough, they're not going to add it.

I pointed out that HDMI sync is more to do with the HDMI sink (amp/tv etc) so I'm waiting to hear back.
