I have successfully get HDR to SDR conversion (Epson 9300) using the VS10 engine (SDR) However, I have noticed the info of the projector is Rec.709 SDR (see attached). I would expect BT.2020. Is there any way to get BT.2020 SDR with VS10 engine (SDR) ?
Why would you expect BT.2020? The VS10 engine doesn't support BT.2020 with SDR (commonly, but incorrectly, called SDR.2020). I thought the 9300 supports HDR?
It does.. but for a while there, the big hot ticket thing was using SDR 2020 for Epson projectors.. for some reason?
The old z9s has BT.2020 SDR conversion option. I would expect the same from the newer z9x pro. HDR makes dim the picture. Needs High lamp mode for sure, which I strongly avoid it because of high noise.
Projectors just don't have the lumen horsepower for proper HDR.. .that's why using VS10 to convert to SDR is the hot ticket, IMO.
