Hello, I am having trouble playing HDR10 local movie files. My setup: Vizio P75 c1 (Full UHD color enabled ) Pioneer sclx701 (HDMI Enhanced mode). When playing an HDR10 file, the TV loses signal. When I press stop on playback, the screen comes back on. DV files play normally. Although, I am not able to set color space to anything more than 4:2:2 and 8 bit. If I set it to anything higher, the TV loses signal and sets resolution to 1080. Please help. I have 3 days before I can return this box Coming off a 2015 Nvidia shield, where DV was not supported and also UHD full.color would cause a blue screen. but HDR10 content would play.
That's the 2016 P series correct? I had the P50 C1 and it was nothing but HDMI handshake problems with so many devices, just like your post describes. I had some relief when running my source devices through an active HDMI switch but ultimately I ended up moving the Vizio to a secondary room and getting an LG set. I've never had any kind of problems with the same source devices on the LG display. Sorry I know that's not a solution, just remembering the Vizio being a nightmare...
I submitted a ticket to Zidoo. Your reply came in my email, and when I read it, I thought this was Zidoo support responding Anyway, yes. (It's a 2016 p series) I spent hours with Vizio support because of the whole UHD Full color option would not work. And even their highest tier engineers could not explain to me what that option actually does technically that it breaks everything. And nothing is available online either. Going crazy with playing with combinations of 442 8,10,12 so f-ing confusing and frustrating. And I don't live in a castle to move a 75 inch TV to a different room
Here is an update. I bypassed the AVR and went directly to the TV (with eARC). Everything works perfectly. If I keep it this way, I lose the Atmos, or 7 channel truehd audio (eArc does not support this). So is the culprit the AVR? Or it could still be the way HDMI on the Vizio works with the AVR?
Have you tried it in the reverse order? save the TV's EDID just in case the AVR doesn't pass it through properly. Then connect Zidoo to AVR and get the AVR to passthrough the video to the TV? (I do it in this order because LG C1 doesn't support DTS.). Also check in this configuration the EDID if the Zidoo is reading the TV's Info otherwise load the saved EDID in manually. Another thing to try is setting the GUI to 23hz, I've had this issue passing video through my HW-Q990B with Dolby Vision. Having the GUI set at 60hz and plays video it resyncs n signal gets lost for me it worked fine with HDR but DV would lose signal, this was fixed when I changed GUI to 23hz as well to get rid of resync.
Thanks for the response Thahn. But you just went above my pay grade what's EDID of the TV? I am returning my Zidoo (last day tomorrow) and going to contact pioneer again, since without them in the picture, everything works
Actually reading from your previous update, why don't you just Zidoo HDMI input into your TV (Zidoo doesn't need the E-Arc port) and E-ARC from TV to your Pioneer.
Ok, I get it. You're thinking the AVR is not correctly passing this ID Zidoo. try try this if I have time. But I shouldn't be doing this. Pioneer should fix this.
Just an update. Returned my original Z9x and just ordered a new one. All the problems described above are eliminated. (i still see HDR10 disconnection, but after hitting stop and relaunching everything works). So the core of all my HDR and Audio issues was the shield. After years of trying to figure this out, and thinking that the issues lies with the AVR, its actually the old shield. Now that new Z9x works as expected couple of questions: 1) None of my trailers are working. I've seen a bunch of posts online, but they involve a manual workaround. I have the latest firmware. Is this still a bug? 2) I am thinking of buying this enclosure: Mediasonic PROBOX 4 Bay 3.5” SATA Hard Drive Enclosure – USB 3.0 & eSATA Support 18TB HDD (HF2-SU3S3) 2022 New Chipset I want to attach this to the z9x using the Sata port. I need the SATA to eSata cable? I am in the process of trying to set up SMB1 so that i can see a USB drive attached to z9x from my Win10 PC. Assuming that works, when this 4bay is attached, will i see it as 4 separate drives on my PC, will be able to write/delete the files?
