@Markswift2003 I have got issue with aspect ratio only in DV for now. I can not able to change it from 4:3 to 16:9 . But i am able to do it in Dune Solo 8k.
I am uploading images if any one could help and tell the developer to sort out this issue.

 

Sorry - absolutely no idea what the problem is.

That looks like 4:3 content, presumably in a 16:9 frame, so I'm not sure what you're trying to do?

 

Maybe he's looking for a zoom feature for 4:3 content?

 

This is 4k imax format, the black boxes are encoded data. The resolution is full 4k, can't be zoomed on a 4k TV, maybe on an 8k tv

nah, if i may do a suggestion, don't spend any time on this. These specific 'files' also popped up on the AVS forum, same users. Reaction there was crappy files, find another rip.
It is the same socket, so if you feed it the same files, it will deliver the same result.

 

Love my z3000, for what I use it for, its miles ahead of my z1000.. one odd issue.. seems 80% of the time if I hit pause and leave it for more that 5 minutes.. when I resume the play back keeps starting and stopping.. so every other second.. picture then black screen.. and then repeats. I have to stop the playback then I can resume normally
Definitely feels like a glitch, happens on different files.

 

A little feedback on my Z9X 8K received yesterday morning from FUTEKO, whom I thank in passing!

The amount of customs and taxes paid online was reasonable (29€).

Installed the update without problem, configured everything to my liking

on SAMSUNG 82 inch TV all in HDR10 VS10
on the JVC NZ7 projo, all in Dolby Vision VS10 LLDV

Results (comparisons made with my Z9X which just turned 4 years old)

On the TV the image is very clear, colorimetry with a wide palette, brightness in the image clearly visible, compared to my other zidoo, it's not the big difference but it's clearly visible!
The sound is much more present (at equivalent volume) and more spatialized, a good plus!!

On the LLDV projo, that's where I expected it…….and I'm not unhappy about it, the image has a big plus: details, depth, 3D effects………on the other hand colorimetry that I like I had to correct the white balance, because it had a slightly sepia notation, which I don't really like....after a few small corrections, perfect colorimetry, very nuanced in the gray palette (the clouds are hyper detailed and magnificent).

Then I put all the AI parameters on light and I didn't like it……..but instead of removing them, I lowered the sharpness of the diffuser by a few points……..and there I admit that it's is not bad at all……so for now I stay with its settings and see over several days and different films/series in 1080p/HDR/DV………

Less liked, some bugs on HT5 as soon as you fiddle with the posters or others…..
Still bugs on some BD ISOs, there are improvements but it's not yet perfect.

Overall rather satisfied……to see over time.

As this movie is DV and 4:3 ratio. i am unable to zoom or change to aspect ratio so it could fill up entire screen (16:9) I have SDR file as well with 4:3 but i am able to zoom or change from 4:3 into 16:9 but unable to do DV file.
There is issue i believe which need to be solved. Whereas Dune can do it without any problem.

 

I am able to do in Dune 8k Solo though. Zidoo does not zoom DV file

 

Is it actually an 4:3 file or 4:3 picture within a 16:9 frame? If its the former wouldn't setting it to 16:9 just stretch the image to fill the 16:9 frame? If its the latter wouldn't you need a zoom option to fill the screen - although you would loose info from top and bottom?

Or am I missing something?

 

Is it possible the SDR rips are encoded differently one as actual 4:3 and the DV as 4:3 but in a full 16:9 frame? So the bars are actually part of the actual video signal?

 

Yes, that's it - it's a 4:3 image in a 16:9 frame, so the video is actually 3840x21060 it's just that a load of it is black. Bloody stupid.

The Dune has Zoom controls but the Zidoo hasn't - it's inherited the same aspect ratio settings as the Realtek SOC which was hamstrung in this respect.

The AML SOC can zoom and it's something I've already broached with the devs.

 

Have not done much on the 3000 yet, but the Dune 8 k does that for me. (see I said for me just for a certain person). One nice thing with the 3000 is that my pro 1000 would consistently lose the audio when starting a file from pause. I only happened on my Bravia 9 and did not happen on my 950H. It was driving me crazier than I already am.

 

I am thinking about replacing uhd3000 with uhd8000.

In fact, since we are using an expensive external DAC and NAS, we do not need uhd8000.

However, I compared the previous z9x and uhd3000 1:1, and there was a difference in picture quality, so I am using uhd3000.


Is there a clear difference in the picture quality of the UHD8000 compared to the UHD3000?

I wonder if there is a big difference in picture quality with 1080p AI upscaling.

-All VS10 in 'HDR'
-All LLDV in 'DV'
The problem is that each time I change the edit, and I do it twice a day, the 'HDR and DV' settings have to be redone!!!
If possible, there should be memoirs for each eid..........

 

There will be differences but they will be nuances that only a very trained eye can notice. Don't expect video differences from day to night
