You see the stutters when an overlay is displayed too then (blue seek bar or stats etc) ? I think it’s more prevalent on 29,97 files for example but on 23,976 too.

To be honest, no, I've never seen that and I've been at these boxes for about 4 months now...

I have one 29.97 MKV. If I bring up info on left hand side - no stutter. Also if I bring up blue bar to do a scan forward - again no stutter.

Hi have a problem with my new uhd8000 I’ve narrowed it down to any BDMV folder with TrueHd atmos film in it the sound cuts out dropping in and out same film in a mkv container works fine, all the BDMV movies played fine in my zappiti signature player with different Hdmi cables so got to be issue with the uhd 8000 playback with bdmv truehd. Any help would be greatful.

This is weird I need to test more but I'm not imagining this. I think I have the latest firmware it auto updated when I started the box?

I never made that claim. Seems a rather picayune remark.

The file is playing directly on inserted hdd. The same hdd on the zidoo pro1000 does not stutter using all the same equipment. It does it on several files. So it is not a bad file or the hdd, or the cables etc. Today I also tried it on the Zidoo 8k and the files don't stutter on it either.

    @Markswift2003 ,
Ok I found the pattern of the stuttering when the UI overlay is displaying something during playback.

First of all, you need to have the UI in 4K. In 1080p there is no stutter on any video.

Then, you need to playback something that is not 23.976 or 24 fps as I never see stuttering on those. It does not seem to matter which resolution your video is in, just the framerate for some reason. I have stuttering on 1080p videos.

To see it the easiest, play Gemini man 60 fps movie and you will see it very easily. If you don't have the movie, use my Gemini Man VP9 59,94fps clip from before, it will also stutter.

Most of my files that are 29,97fps stutters also with the UI overlay on. Some might not but most will.

Not a big deal for me as using the UI in 4K makes the UI in 1080p when playing 1080p movies with match resolution on like I use look terrible versus when using the 1080p UI, the UI in 4K still looks fine.

Still, the Plex icons look quite better in 4K so it would be cool to be able to use the 4K UI but maybe the SoC or android is too strecthed on a 4K UI as even on the description it says it will be less smooth but more refined in 4K versus 1080p UI.

Is it just me missing something or is there no search in the native Plex app? This is something that needs to be added ASAP, I can't find movies in my library easily without this basic function.

A difference between "Dune 8K stutters for me" (If one does not generally claim ) and "any is an exaggeration and the new dune 8k stutters and has some other issues." (Your quote) you must understand?

Why add font function for external SRT substitle does not work now? It works on Zidoo RTD1619 players. Will it be supported in the furture?

Reset the player to factory settings and try to play the files without changing anything. If there are still problems, send the video file to support. Since only you and Creator44 have these problems, it is probably a special encoding/format. Something older, I assume.

I set up my shiny new UHD8000 last night - it took no time at all. Flicked through all the settings, some which I will query at some point but everything seemed to be in order, especially removing my internal and external hdds from my Z1000 Pro which just worked in the UHD8000. So watched Top Gun Maverick (UHD / Dolby Atmos True HD) and initial observations were the PQ was about the same but the sound seemed on a different level than before, seriously good! @Markswift2003 spotted I had a setting incorrect in my Vertex2 - "Use custom HDR for TX0 and TX1 when input is LLDV". My TV supports Native Dolby Vision, HDR & HLG but not HDR10+ . I'm confused as what settings in the UHD8000 I need to use, so a little help would be appreciated. When the 1619DR models came out IIRC there was a basic guide to the best settings. Any chance for these new models please?

IGNORE! Having another Senior Moment, there's a Settings Thread already

Ah, ok, I use the 1080p UI because there is a performance hit using the 4K UI - That's probably what you're seeing.

@Creator44 I have my UI set at 4K SDR. When you say "when the UI overlay is displaying something during playback" do you mean, for example, if you press the info button during playback to view information on left side of screen?

Yes or the blue bar or anything from the ui really. Try my gemini man vp9 sample (not the h264 obviously as it wont play smoothly as h264@59,94 is not supported)

I just noticed in the issues thread that you commented that the ethernet adapter stayed up in standby. Does that mean that control over IP is now viable?
Also in the same area, I don't suppose that there are now discrete on and off IR codes?
    Cheers
