    Hi,

I would like to ask if someone has compared the PQ of this box for HDR/DV to SDR conversion vs Madvr. Not interested in the LLDV option. Is there any Upgrade in this matter since Z9X? For projector purposes. Thanks

I think so - it's not a paradigm shift, but it's an improvement.

The biggest changes are in how HDR modes handled and in particular Dolby Vision since it uses a later Dolby library and supports true TV Led Dolby Vision and CMv4.0.

Lots of other stuff too. It's a substantial upgrade.

Everyone has their own choice.......personally no because I find that it brings a little grain and overexposure to the whites!!

Does the z9x 8k support iso 3d playback?

If you're talking about MVC frame packed 3D (which I assume you are) then no - the SOC does not support frame packed 3D.

    Hello.

this is my first message to forum.

i am planning to buy z9x 8k or uhd 8000.

i am leaning to 8000 because of its separate video and audio out.

my tv is philips pml9507 series supports dolby vision, hdr 10 and plus etc.

my avr is lexicon rv-9z 11.2 atmos, dts etc.

my question ; is there any video and audio quality difference between two model that video from z9x will pass through rv-9 to tv and video from 8000 will go directly to tv? And also any advantage of separate audio transfer?

Ps: i have a audiolab streamer and amp setup for tidal and qobuz. So for music streaming it is not my concern.

Hi, in your setup, if everything goes through the AVR, there's no point in buying an 8000 or a Z3000 Pro, which also have a dedicated HDMI audio output.

But these two devices have a 'better' quality internal power supply. Does this have a real impact on image quality? That's another debate.

    Thank you for reply @ArN

there is really a big price different between them. But within my limits i wish to get the better one. İ really wonder if the power supply affects quality also :)

the retailer told me that i can watch netflix with z9x 8k.
    İs it possible also?

No, for video playback, no difference in audio/video at all.

Separating audio and video will make no difference to the quality of either.

8000 is a great player and superb for music, but if you just want video playback and have network storage then go for the Z9X.

Thank you for reply. What is the benefit of separating them then?

You may have an amp that doesn't support HDR10+ or Dolby Vision for example, so in that case you can route audio to the amp but video straight to a display.

I read my lexicon rv-9 avr manual.
There is nothing about dolby vision or hdr. Can you check for me? İ am not that tech man :(

If you post two EDIDs I can tell you

    Connect like this:

    1. Zidoo Main HDMI > Lexicon > Display

    2. Zidoo Main HDMI > Display

    To Download EDID
    ================

    Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

Save to a USB stick or network location

Post file as attachment to forum

Received a new Z30 Pro yesterday from Futeko, I’m in the U.S. Michigan, can’t hardly believe, only took 3 days! Anyway, I currently have a Z20 Pro, and Z9x 4K. I first updated the firmware to v1.2.01, then I followed instructions to backup and restore to the new Z30, worked perfectly! I was worried about stuttering, but happy to report it is working flawlessly. I’m streaming from my Unraid server using SMB. My main reason for updating to the Z30 was to improve Full menus on my Blu Ray concert videos, so far the few I tried are working well.
