So reading you, you recommend 'VS10 DV to SDR' rather than the usual 'VS10 LLDV'??
On the other hand, the colorimetry is found in 'BT709' instead of 'BT2020'.........?

No, definitely not - it depends on your projector.

What I'm saying is that VS10 SDR actually uses the metadata more accurately, however the effect will be extremely subtle (unless the colourist wields Chroma Weight like an axe - which they shouldn't!), even if at all.

The issue with VS10 SDR is it's still in Rec.709 so you haven't got the bigger colour space of Rec.2020 that you have in HDR10 or DV.

So no, stick with LLDV on your PJ ;)

Yes thank you....that's what I thought I prefer the BT 2020 colorimetry! ;)

Definitely depends on the display device. But it's always fun to experiment and compare! I'm using a Sony VW290ES/VW325ES and this gives me a picture with a lot more punch and contrast. A picture that I prefer more than doing the LLDV thing with EDIDs.

Yes, it very much depends on the display and also personal preference - at the end of the day, if it looks right, it is right!

Although we always tend to chase that extra little last bit of rightness...

And especially the projector and there, I think that SONY and JVC are not equivalent when it comes to HDR/LLDV management!
So personally the little extra I have with my JVC

Hello everyone, after trying the Z9X 8K I can say that I am very happy with its performance, I have personally replaced it with a Z9X and the jump in quality in image and sound is very noticeable, using Mark's configuration the most notable, speed of menus, loading of movies, audio and video quality far superior to the Z9X, I have not had any synchronization problems with any type of audio, zdmc for use of external add-ons everything perfect passthough without problem, the only problem I have had is with an 8 iso movie that does not play them, on the other hand I have a larger amount of iso that work perfectly, I understand that polishing the firm will solve it.
In short, I am very happy with the Z9X 8K, it has solved the few problems I had with the Z9X with a much superior improvement, a detail in case it helps you, I have a hub with external power and in it 7 disks of 10Tb each and they load perfectly.
    greetings

Just convert the 8 x isos that wont play ,back to the BDSM format , hopefully that might sort them

Ive always converted isos to BDSM (or DSF if Sacd) .i just figure it must be easier to play the unpacked m2ts than the packed iso files, which to me is like a packed rar file
and i did all my dsd isos to dsf just because that way i could copy all the best songs in to their own Playlist folder ,plus mp7 didnt always play well with dsf isos especially on the Pro range

Does the mini V10 remote work at all? Can't seem to get it to pick it up within Bluetooth and only get the IR to work.

Also the posters when rematching aren't showing any images.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Greetings,

I currently own the Z9x. I have been happy with it but, the new boxes have me interested. I use mine only for streaming 4K and Blu-ray rips from the drives attached to both my desktop and the Zidoo via USB. I am considering the Z30 Pro and the Z3000 Pro. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

    Regards,

i have an x9s ,z9x and z9x pro and have updated the pro to the z30 8k
pretty happy with it so far love the internal drive bay to store all my sacd rips

Picture and audio both seem to be an improvement over the Pro model ,and that was an improvement over the z9x

theres still some glitchy things with it ie occasionally

losing edid on startup (an issue the pro range has badly) thou i think some is due to just hdmi handshaking with order devices in the chain are turned on ( ie lunch time ill start tv ,which turns on amps too ( which i turn off since just watching youtube while eating lunch ) which later on at night when i use echo to turn on theatre room ...which turns tv amps zidoo and all the led strips but doesnt turn on amps cos of the earlier startup chain )) basiccly i will get round to changing CEC on the new box

some ppl say theres a 75 - 150 ms audio delay but not seeing it here

but its all early days and at least this time they have MCH working correctly ... something it looks like will never work correctly on the Pro range

  16. How is hdr10? Is hdr10 dimmer or brighter on z9x 8k or z9k pro? Thanks

  17. Wow! The z9x pro plays iso, so the z9k 8k doesn’t play iso? SMH

Plays ISO files just fine for me.

  19. Is hdr10 dimmer on 8k player compare to 4k, I heard one guys had mention the 8k being a little dimmer for DV. I have a Samsung, I want to make sure hdr10 is dimmer than z9x pro.

I don't think so. I haven't noticed DV being dimmer. Then again I don't have both to do a side by side comparison.
