I confirm problems with a WD drive larger than 16TB (specifically I have 18TB) - if there is about 2TB of free space left, files start disappearing when copying. Downloading via ZDMC 19.1 is OK
I tried both NTFS and extFAT file system
If I copy the files to the disk via Windows, Zidoo sees and plays them without any problems. If I move files from windows via SMB it disappears. They cannot rename or copy new ones via SMB - the remaining free space is approx. 1.3TB.
I'm going to try to clean the HDD and reformat it into 2 partitions.

maybe you can tell me where you move the data when you copy from the PC to the internal hard drive of the Z10 pro.

So with me I find the z10 pro under network on my windows 10 PC as follows.
The first folder is named Share, then two folders with the following names come in this share folder: 1gzws3nhs7jse7
    and storage
I can't copy anything under Storage because it tells me memory is too small and the other folder there I can create a folder and copy data into it. That's exactly how I did it, the films are running. But I doubt if that's correct and if it fits like that.
I ordered the Z10 Pro with 8TB, the hard drive was already built in, maybe someone here can help me whether it fits or what I did wrong. Thank you

I also do not understand what this folder is? 1gzws3nhs7jse7
and what the storage folder means, it's normally called storage space, but why can't I save anything here?, and it tells me storage space is too small? and in the other folder there it goes? I don't get it, it's the same hard drive, nothing changes, just two different folders on one hard drive. why does everything always have to be so complicated... well, the main thing is that it works, thank god it took me 35 hours to copy 5.5 TB over my network. on average I was shown 50 mb/s to move.

Storage is the part still free after installation of the build-in Flash Storage (16/32 GByte). So it is a different target drive.
Good to retrieve somethings occasionally (stored by Zidoo) but writing to it is not recommended.

Using SMB Server on the Zidoo transfers should run between 50 and 100 GByte/sec using a wired gigabit connection. Confusing Gbit with GByte?

No idea what 1gzws3nhs7jse7 is. Highly recommended is using Windows to write meaningful Volume Labels to your HDD (SATA and/or USB attached). Up to 32 positions for easy identification! Just take a snapshot of your storage display using Media Center.

I always use Windows (with USB Docking or internal HDD docking slots) to move/copy content of entire HDD's at maximum disk speed. That still may take between 12 and 24 hours. Don't forget how much 8 TByte data really is. Easy enough to forget it playing up to 100 GByte UHD movies.

Using 2 partitions with Zidoo is a a bad idea. Android does not deal with that well and it does not help for the 32-bit SATA sector limit as that references to the whole HDD and not within partitions.

In other words, for an 18TB HDD, you recommend only reducing the size and leaving only one partition. But that can't really help if android refers to the entire disk and not to partitions.
But I recommend everyone to resize the partition, this will help, but if it refers to the entire HDD, then it can't help.

If the first (and only) partition is kept under the 17.5 TByte limit. Then all active sectors stay in one block starting from the beginning hence there is no 32-bit sector counter that will be exceeded.

Formatting a 2nd partition for the free space left will wrap the counter for sure and may result in interesting effects. Under Windows64 that will work just fine. So far for my analysis and experiences.

OK, thanks for the valuable advice. I have just cleaned the External 18TB WD and I am going to format it, so I will create only one partition reduced to 17.5TByte

I formatted it like this (I still have a mess in GB, Gbite, .... and programs a few times maybe too :) ):

That should take care of it. Just share with us how it behaves and if it solves any problems seen before. :p

I'll definitely let you know, I'm already filling the disk with data

Now my message seems to be confirmed at least by Dune (using the same SOC with Android):
Latest FW update 221220_0257_r21 release note:
    - All models: Improvement: HDD format: HDD formatting software updated to a newer version for better compatibility
    - All models: Improvement: HDD format: When attempting to format a HDD bigger than 16TB on a 32-bit OS (which is not supported), now a reasonable error message is shown.

Can only recommend Zidoo to do something similar asap. Asked them (like Dune) a long time ago about this.

I have 8x 20tb external WD hard drives connected via USB hub to my NVIDIA Shield Pro which works perfectly. I assume this will not work on Zidoo devices or does the 16tb limit only relate to Sata and not USB 3.0 port?

Would love to make the switch to Zidoo if this works.

this thread is about internal HDD's. External HDD's (and NAS') don't rely on the Android OS, so they are not limited to 16Tb like the internal SATA drive(s) are.
