    Hello Movie Lovers!

First I want to thank @Markswift2003 for all his support on this project and providing this home for Z-Keeper discussions.

Z-Keeper is a Windows application that interfaces directly with your Zidoo media players to help you manage your movie catalog, make edits and find/fix problems. If you own multiple Zidoo players then Z will also help keep them all in sync. Besides interfacing with the Zidoo HT5 app on your Zidoo, it also talks with TMDB via its API to help you match movies and TV shows where the Zidoo made mistakes.

If you don't own a Zidoo media player (then what are you doing on the Zidoo forum?), Z-Keeper now has a full toolset for managing your movie library via NFO and poster/fanart files. Use the TMDB Matching tools to properly match your video files to movies then create full Kodi-compliant NFO files and artwork files, including tvshow.nfo for TV shows.

If you're new to Z-Keeper and stumbled on this page by accident, you can sign up for the Beta program on...

    A few screenshots...

The main poster wall mimics the Zidoo poster wall, but very fast since all images and data are cached on your PC and updated when you do a Sync.

Right-click on a poster, or anywhere in Z-Keeper that has a title or file reference, and you get a context-sensitive menu of tools:

Show all your Catalogs side-by-side, showing differences, then drag-n-drop changes, or click a button and copy everything from one Catalog to another. Applying these changes sends updates to each Zidoo device and writes NFO and artwork sidecar files.

Run a Sync to scan your filesystem video folders and your Zidoo device and run an analysis on what it finds, looking for problems and helping you resolve them.

Let Z-Keeper run your entire set of video files against TMDB to find the best match for movies and TV shows. Where it matched the wrong movie, quickly fix it.

This is just scratching the surface, so feel free to jump on the Beta bandwagon and try it for yourself.

    Hi Chris.

I'm just getting into Z-Keeper. A bit overwhelming at first, what is what and why do I need so much of it.
Before going deep into scanning, cross referencing and 3-way comparing the first thing I would like to see after installing Z-Keeper is to look at Zidoo database on my PC with all the info. That is not that obvious to begin with.

Quick question. Can I transfer Z-Keeper with scanned database to another PC ?

Not asking for another matrix of matching 3-way between all 4 devices :D Just migrate from one PC to the next.

My media files are not organized in seperate folders with nfo. It's all going back to XBMC (before Kodi) where I kept my files in a single directory and all info with posters in a separate database. This concept of keeping it simple and not cluttering the drives stayed with me all the time. All my media files are in a single directory with only a few external subtitles and no nfo files. I have a blend of mkv files, ISO and UHD file structures (for BD Menus, extras and more) as folders at the same level as individual files.

After full sync I ended up with around 800 movies and over 18,000 files. Those 18,000 files are multiple playlists and partial stream files from UHD structures. They are ignored by Zidoo and not matched in the blueprint but nothing is equal in Z-Keeper. I could use an option to ignore subdirectories (all UHD folders have proper movie names) or ignore files that don't have proper media extension.

Within those 18k of ignored files I had some missing movies on my first Z9X player. Didn't even know until I scanned my second Z9X and found out that it had more movies compared to the first Z9X.

You can Xfer your Z-Keeper data from one pc to another. It keeps the zkeeper.db and your cached artwork folders in a folder you can easily get to: go into Settings and at the bottom in the Clear data frame there’s a button to open the folder that contains all this data. Copy/move it to your new PC.

As for Z being a steep learning curve, it’s certainly a big application with a lot of functionality. If you take the time to read the built in Tutorials and the Learn decks on the website, starting with the How it works page, it should help. Eventually I will be creating videos showing how to use it.

If by UHD folders you’re referring to a UHD version BDMV folders, I have no experience with those and even BDMV folders are not fully supported by Z yet.

You can tell Z to ignore certain kinds of files and folders in Settings/Ignore files. It’s already configured to ignore trailers.

You put all seasons and episodes of a Series into your main movie folder, all flat?
While that’s an unusual design choice, Z can handle that just fine. It would make NFO file support difficult if not impossible given how TV shows structure their NFO files with a tvshow.nfo in each folder that contains episodes of that show.
There may be a way the Zidoo can handle this but I have not looked into it as it’s not a scenario I have heard anyone else doing.

Don’t have TV series in HT, just movies. Different types are on separate shares like 3D separate from UHD. 5 shares connected to HT on 2 Zidoo’s. No NFO files. Yes BDMV containing UHD rips building up thousands of files for Z-Kipper to go through.

All popup help and tutorials are great. No go without it.

I am about to release a new test build that supports BDMV and DVD rips (initial testing only - more testing is needed, but it's a good start I think).

BTW: I found that both Blu-ray and UHD full disc rips use the same BDMV structure. Is your experience different?

Similar structure, not sure if there are any differences. I selected in Z-Keeper to ignore *.m2ts and *.bdmv. Didn't have time to fully test it. It was still going through 18,000 files initially validating names and times from the sources. I had slow connection and didn't have time to finish the scan. Will test it today in the evening on the local network.

Get the latest test build and you should be good. I released it about 4 hours ago.
