X9S - Rebooting Middle of Movie

Have an X9S that's about 3 years old.

Few months back it started having this issue where the unit reboots randomly while watching a movie. Happens multiple times during the length of the movie. It's a pain to say the least.

Movies are on Synology NAS.
I am on the latest firmware.

Is the unit end of life? Is there any setting that I should try?

It would be unusual for a hardware fault to exhibit that kind of behaviour, so I'd try a factory reset first (after backing up the database).

Failing that, an emergency reflash as below:

making sure you follow the instructions EXACTLY.

Once you've done that you can install the latest (or maybe try the second to latest) firmware.

It actually doesn't reboot. It just shuts down completely.

 

Did a Factory reset and it seemed to work.
Watched couple of movies without any shut down.

Also, Zidoo released new firmware for the X9S within last 24 hours, to bring up to par with the Z9S , Z9X release with mediainfo scanning on the front end in home theater. and may more improvements. Here is the release thread: Beta 2.1.45 X9S
