Hi there I know that implementing Spotify Connect Lossless in Eversolo devices is much more complicated than in the rest of 128 brands that have already implemented because potato do you think we will have it by next year? cheers everyone
It was told here https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?th...back-guide-for-eversolo-devices.101730/page-7 and here https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/the-a6-does-not-support-spotify-lossless.101419/page-3 that implementing spotify lossless is quite complicated for android-based streamers (HiFi Rose users are on the same boat). So I wouldn't hold my breath.
ufffff then I will sell the Eversolo and buy a WiiM Ultra, as I canceled my Tidal susbscription (I much prefer Spotifys UI and AI) Selling the Eversolo of course means to lose money, but I have enjoyed for 2 years and Wiim Ultra price is what I will get from selling the Eversolo A6
Do you really want to replace the DMP-A6 with the Wiim Ultra? The DMP-A6 is superior in every way, and all this just to have Spotify? Even if it were lossless, the maximum resolution is 44 kHz 16 bit? So you don't have to wait for them to fix the problem? I'm truly shocked!!
16/44.1 is STILL redbook CD quality. Nobody ever said Spotify is (or will be) doing HI-RES. Just lossless, aka uncompressed (into such things as mp3 / AAC, and the like)´It is indeed getting utterly unpleasant that after almost 4 months Eversolo hasn't yet figured out how to implement the new Spotify API. Let alone the fact that all the customers are left with no information about when (let alone if) it will be ever implemented...
Yes, okay, but you can't make a big deal out of it! Personally, replacing a DMP-A6 with a Wiim Ultra just for Spotify is simply absurd! The best you can get is CD quality at 44.1kHz 16-bit. If Spotify also offered hires up to 192kHz 24-bit, then I could perhaps understand this need for Spotify. Personally, I've always done without it and will continue to do so.
Yes, I just want lossless, no Hi-Res and yes, staying with Eversolo would mean I have to wait. I do not get why you say that I don’t need to wait for them to fix the problem
You wrote that you want to sell the Eversolo to buy a Wiim Ultra and you don't want to wait for them to fix the Spotify issues... I think that's wrong. The Eversolo is superior in both hardware and software. The two products aren't even comparable. I hope I made myself clear.
No response from eversolo means.. No Spotify ? Or they are working on it ? I think also to buy a wiim ultra instead.
Hi different strokes for different folks he will absolutely not be the first person that I am personally aware of to sell or part with his Eversolo and I’m most certain he certainly will not be the last not everything is for everybody. I absolutely do ascertain everyone’s comment or opinion, but if he prefers one over the other s I myself have been through somewhat of the same. I have had a few folks or Audio guys look at me so much strange when I had sold my Hi fi Rose, in favor of the Eversolo DMP-A8. Some still do, my reason being is the A8 performed and did everything that I was looking for a unit to do plus I believe a little more , however, for the total amount I really stream other than listening to Internet radio & background music most of the time the above decision suited me perfectly. What’s for some is that for all if he prefers one unit over the other, that certainly their prerogative. and simply a matter of personal choice.. please enjoy the upcoming weekend along with your music
After spending time with both the Eversolo DMP-A6 and the WiiM lineup, I’ve come to the conclusion that the DMP-A6 is noticeably inferior in several key areas, particularly when it comes to platform openness, feature support, and after-sales experience. WiiM has been consistently transparent with customers about what they’re working on, what’s coming next, and how they handle issues. Their communication is clear, frequent, and accessible. In contrast, Eversolo’s presence after purchase is basically non-existent. Once you buy the device, good luck getting meaningful support or updates beyond the bare minimum. Feature-wise, the WiiM ecosystem is simply ahead. Their devices already support Spotify Lossless and Chromecast, both of which are major value-adds for real-world use. The DMP-A6 still lags behind on both fronts, and there’s no clear roadmap from Eversolo about when, or even if, these capabilities will arrive. On paper the DMP-A6 looks impressive, but in day-to-day use, the WiiM platform delivers a better experience, better customer communication, and better long-term confidence. At this point, the A6 feels like an overpriced box with very little support behind it, while WiiM is actually evolving and listening to its user base.
Hey hello there Mantis, I absolutely enjoyed your post or reply. I don’t wanna upset some people, most of what you are saying is absolutely correct. You are right on point, owning the Eversolo A8 for quite some time now approximately a year and a half, maybe a bit longer I immensely enjoy the UNIT, my main reason for selecting the Eversolo A8, was mainly due to the fact that used or incorporated the AKM4499 EXEQ , as I previously owned and still do two external DACs, that use are incorporate the ESS implementation. So I really did not want another one. If The Eversolo A6 had used or incorporated the AKM I most certainly or more than likely would’ve just settled on the A6. I have no current plans at least that I am aware of at this present time of parting with my Eversolo A8. So far so good plus the unit had given me more amenities as far as inputs and outputs. in which they were a wonderful asset as I do have a few other devices that I am able to hook up to it due to the extra inputs and outputs and other provisions. Also, as we all are different in certain areas and Audio, I run strictly 2 channel AUDIO only so a lot of the other details that I see being discussed in different uses or multi channel, Ect , absolutely do not apply to me so I have no issues or worries and that particular area. now how long everything will keep going along smoothly and accurately and Dependability could be anyone’s guess. As I stated on my above previous post, I had sold a HIFI Rose to a friend of mine that absolutely really desired it and still uses it to this day. Again, not to be repetitious, but I absolutely believe and agree with most of your post absolutely without question I thank you again a very true and extremely accurate descriptive post or reply. Thank you for sharing your most accurate opinion, In my personal beliefs and findings have a very pleasant weekend and enjoy the music
Any choice involves trade-offs. It is true that it would be great if eversolo would be more open about their dev map. Firmware updates seems to come as periodic gifts, with no clue what will be in them until they appear. Still, if you move from eversolo to wiim ultra, you lose Apple Music support and apple airplay. If you stick with eversolo, you don’t have lossless Spotify connect, although if you start with the side loaded app, you can get lossless and then continue with Spotify connect. It’s irritating, but it works. I would really like Spotify connect to just work. Given that it is taking so long, and I’ve had communication from eversolo and Spotify that they are working on it, I suspect there is something challenging about it, possibly because of the OS, since hifi rose is having the same issue. I’ll stick with eversolo for a while longer. If I get too irritated about Spotify, I might jump to a bluesound icon, but then you lose the ability for an SSD library and ripping/playing CD’s directly through the unit. Everything is a trade-off.
\ I bought the Eversolo DMP-A6 because it had Apple support for high res . I attached a Wiim pro I had bought years ago and attached that to the same dac Im using via coax. Problem solved . Now i have Apple and Spotify lossless. And Wiim Pro is full transparent going to the dac. And Spotify sounds great through the Wiim Pro
Hmm… I could be mistaken, I’ve read these posts but I don’t recall seeing any official responses from Eversolo support, only assumptions made by users whose real authority I’m not sure about. I reiterate the fact that Eversolo’s software appears to be developed by professionals, as demonstrated by the commendable implementation of a DRC convolution filter, which I use successfully and which works as well as Roon’s. I agree that the delay compared to competitors is embarrassing; if you then want to buy a streamer like the Wiim Ultra, which has no balanced outputs and not even a USB output for an external DAC, you are free to do so. For the time being, I have decided to wait.
