Hi Tedy, can you provide me a link on Spotify, or wherever, so that I can listen to it...? Or tell me on which album it could be, so \i can eventually grab a copy?
Artist: johnny Cash (although the song is originally by Nine Inch Nails - Trent Reznor... this is a far greater interpretation, and not only IMO, but on Reznor himself...) Album: American Recordings IV - The Man Comes Around Title: Hurt Genre: Alternative. (by the mere fact that the track is by NIN, but I couldn't reasonably find a place for it, in the genre's huge catalog... you name it) Reznor himself, after hearing Johnny's rendering, said "it no longer belongs to me"... worth listening; the video, though, adds to the empathy.
Artist: Yussef Dayes Album: The Yussef Dayes Experience Genre: Jazz, Fusion Highly recommended, fantastic drums!
Artist: Animals As Leaders Album: Animals As Leaders Genre: Progressive Metal / Djent / Math Metal Definitely not for casual listening. A bit attention-demanding for the interested (new) listener. Hope you enjoy. Here's a quick link to Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/1BRtQtljRJIxroJXI20K39?si=EIjIj-ALRmK53XC-T8OYcQ
I like it. Very interesting, asymetrical time signature (odd meters), 5/4, 7/8, 9/8. The drummer needs an oxygen-tent after each recording.
Hi @_Richard_ , if you like odd time-signatures I can recommend Tool. Any album will potentially do, but Fear Inoculum would do it, as being more refined IMHO. Take the track Pneuma as a starting point. Hope you enjoy it, in case you don't already know them, that is.
