Video Plays Initially But Then Displays Black Screen

    There is often quite a bit of code within ASS and SSA subtitles, it's a simple matter to turn them into bog standard SRT with 'DSRT Editor for Windows', it's an old program around circa 2002
    by Dmitriy Kuznetzoff for checking and correcting SRT,SSA/ASS and SST subtitles. (ANSI, UTF-8, UTF-16)

    If you extract the sub/s (use MKVCleaver) inspect what's happening around 1m21s possibly a clue? Then turn the file into a SRT and remux back into the MKV file.

    As already confirmed, it's caused by a bug in the default video player in the Z9X and Z1000 Pro. I conclude that most people on this forum don't watch foreign-language videos, therefore they have disabled subtitles by default, and so they have not encountered this issue. Zidoo have already developed a fix and have invited me to test a private Beta version.
