The issue with Plex is still there. When I access Plex from the A6 screen it enters an infinite loop scanning the Music. I can have access via the iPad or iPhone app. Now using the apps, when I list Albums or Artists the list stops after a few hundreds with a “load more” that I tap on but nothing happens. So, worst than before, can’t use Plex from the apps now. Back to Plexamp
Thanks for this further update! And thanks for following the many requests you receive! I believe the greatest value of devices like Eversolo, beyond their technical quality and intrinsic functionality, is above all their continuous development. Thank you!
It would be nice if the years category in the local library could be fixed. Couple of issues with that category are no year category before 1960 (there was music before 1960), and I'm not sure where the year data is coming from because with compilations it seems like the library scanner just looks a one track from that album and then throws all the songs on that album into 1 year category which is useless. Every tracks year needs to be used not album year. The artist/album bug is fixed though so that's a thumbs up!
The compilation albums are the worst thing to deal with; in terms of date, artist, album-art etc. etc. I would suggest you tag the compilations yourself, as that would lead to results that are better than any software could ever achieve. One more thing: what is the meaning of a year-category when you already have the "year" (well, the date) tag...? Curious.
I am quite aware of this, every file in my collection is CAREFULLY curated by myself as to the year a song was released. As to the meaning of a year category, well, if it's included with the library management functions of the software it should probably work correctly in at least my humble opinion. As an example: Compilation: The very best of Cher track 1. I Believe - tagged 1998 is in the libraries 60's years category track 3. If I could turn back time - Tagged 1989 is in the libraries 60's years category etc. Now if I click on the 60's music category and choose random play and I Believe by Cher starts playing, I'm not going to be pleased with results. (I have over 1,500 60's tagged files) Other players don't seem to have any difficulty distinguishing the difference between a 1965 released song and a 1998 released song.
I am not sure \i follow you completely... 1. you say you carefully curate your library 2. Cher appears in the 1960's... How's that? Does (I am not aware of this) the Eversolo classify the music itself?
The library software scrapes the data from the files it's pointed at as your library. So some how the software is not using the data correctly and is mis categorizing files. The Cher compilation has songs on it tagged with 60's years, so somehow things are getting mixed up and everything is getting shoved in the 60's category. This is fine when it's a normal album when all the songs are 1 year date, not so good on compilation/collections/best of artist. ;-)
You mean the "Eversolo" software, right? If so... well, "It's a Man's World" contains - as you may know - "Walking In Memphis" which could well be classified in the 60's... :-D
You must have edited to add the walking in Memphis part. Chers version was released in 1996, It's irrelevant if "a song" was originally released in the 60s. Please stop picking nits to make some sort of point, it's very annoying.
Do you know HOW the algorithm really works? Then, according to my knowledge, analyzing the song, cout really lead to the 60's. I just wanted to infer some clues. IMHO the ONLY way to properly tag songs from a year is to use the RELEASE DATE tag, not any futile algo. And I am a developer, bear it in mind; I know HOW to use data.
You can only sort one album to one release date. So if you got a compilation of songs you have to decide in which decade to put. For instance if you have a best of by The Rolling Stones containing songs from the 60s to today, you can sort it to the 60s, or genre Rock or you can tag it with the today release date. Sorting is important. If you want to hear only Rolling Stones, select by Artist. If to hear Stone with other rock music, choose genre Rock. If you want to listen to Oldies - 60s choose Era or Date.
Judging by the reply you got (similar to those I got from him) this guy is either stoopid, or a Troll. @Zidoo Support-Kim or whom might be in charge... can we make some cross-check on this @Digimed, as his attitude to anybody trying to help results in harsh words and "welcome to my ignore list"... Pathetic to say the least. Thank you guys for your appreciated cooperation. Cheers, Al.
