Did the volume range also change? So, for example, before the patch, -30dB volume was around 3 o'clock, now it's 12 o'clock, which means I can push my speaker way louder than before.

Update: switching `Volume Adjustment Mode`: to Digital Mode seems to solve my issue. What I didn't mention was that, with dB mode, I couldn't lower the volume to very quiet. So the last "tick" of volume level, before it was off, was very audible.
