Tested the new build last night and this morning. Sorry to say still not quite there.

Thunderheart (Sony) still will not even load the menu. Oppo plays it fine. Subtitle bug on some Sony titles still there. Tested on Angels & Demons and Inferno. English subs for foreign dialog not displayed. "Forced Subtitle Enabled" indication is displayed at movie start but no joy. These also play normally on the Oppo. Paramount menu bug still there.

On the plus side, there was also a forced subtitle bug on a few Paramount discs (Star Trek The Motion Picture, Star Trek VI). That one has been fixed.

Close, but no cigar.

 

I sure wouldn't mind a downloadable version of this new firmware. Not sure why mine won't update OTA. I think it was like this last time, too.

I have, of course, activated beta firmwares on the Upgrade page.

 

no issue getting the OTA update from my Z30 Pro.

 

Defo Christmas came early this year!!!

The more I play with the new f/w, the more I am grinning! (like pressing reset on the max/min lldv settings and it seems to then read the custom edid real values )

 

Day 2 and same hdd missing glitch .
Watched a couple tv epis .then stopped in the file manager while i did some FB and house searching .Went to start watching and USB HDD is missing totally as an option ,in the file manager again .so seems to be easily repeatable bug

Power off and on to fix ,again

 

Which Custom EDID are you using? Could you please show me your EDID settings? I’m trying to get the new Dolby Vision/HDR10+ content priority option to appear on my Z9X 8K.

 

No OTA update for my Z3000 Pro either. Also getting the "using the latest software" while "beta" is enabled.
Is this Mac Adres selection or filtration true? If so, i can wait, no rush.

A friend of mine uses his Zidoo UHD8000 in 2.35 mode with GUI COMPRESSION. He selected the Frequency and Resolution mode because he prefers to let his Envy upscale its 1080p files. This configuration worked with the previous Zidoo generation.
Today, under the same settings, as soon as he activates the HDMI Direct Volume mode, his 1080p files come out of the device with a vertically compressed picture.
I managed to reproduce this bug on my own Zidoo Z9X 8K.
The only way to get rid of it is to perform a factory reset.

You're really lucky, because I also tried various settings on my JVC, and the color accuracy was off every time...
So, I went back to using my EDID files, as usual!
I'm waiting for the "big boss" to explain the detailed configuration.

 

Update .Later on second night .Over at Pc transferring a 5gb epi of reacher over to the drive and half way thru the transfer ,the Z30 "lost the USB drive shares " and file wouldnt transfer .From PC end it was saying didnt have permissions ,and when i checked Z30 file manager ,its again lost the USB HDDs and will need another power up to re aquire them .This one ,afk from z30 took maybe 2-3 mins so ,When its gone in to SS its losing usb drives in file manager ?

And its Never happpened in any other firmware ,just to be clear

Hello. I have a strange problem that I didn't have before. When I export an EDID with VRROOM and try to import it to Zidoo, I get the following message (FILE VERIFICATION FAILED)

You shouldn't need to tweak settings per movie. Modern OLEDs and apps like Apple TV or Prime automatically trigger Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode via embedded metadata. The dynamic metadata handles the picture adjustments per scene automatically, making manual tweaking for every title redundant.

Or am I wrong here ?

 

Are there any plans to update the Apple Music version in the Music 8.0 app? I’m currently on 4.6.0, and it’s unstable...

 

Again - There is no general rule to follow here! It all depends on you and your taste. Personally, I may like some settings, the creators of the film - others, and you may have completely different ones. In fact, I very rarely watch movies with the FILMMAKER MODE DV setting, most often I prefer the personalized picture, but that also depends on how you managed to set it. Personally, I adjusted it at least a dozen times until I got a result that I like. As I already told you, in all the different picture settings, I have saved those that I like, and I have not left the default settings, and I have made the least changes in FILMMAKER MODE. I had also tried with the default ones, but I made others, such as increasing the super resolution, automatic dynamic contrast, etc. So it all depends on you - as you like!
