My case is opposite: I hadn't have any reboot neither crash in last 3 months (daily use of 2-3hrs)... like device is getting more user-friendly over time. :)

    Hi Sir @Markswift2003
Device: Z9X 8K. Flashing failed and it is stuck at the logo, effectively bricked. Need a clean USB force‑flash install.img to recover it. Preferably the G‑version. Please send me the download link via private message.
    Thanks

There are always minor retouches which will improve a lot the box behavior!!

In fairness.....one bug, so far: watched history should go from last watched through the historical timeline stacking, rather than alphabetical.

Bugs: if screen time saver enabled, picture, sounds don't come back.
Bookmarks function (resume where you left) is a hit or miss, sometimes it's working, sometimes it is not working with no clear pattern.

That's not a bug it's just a consequence of the UI design.

"Watching" in the widgets on the home screen is of course in watched order but posterwalls have a universal and not an individual sort order so when you pick the order at the top (and admittedly there isn't an option for watched order) that order is applied to all posterwalls.

There's a known bug with the screensaver during playback. The problem is the screensaver reverts to the UI HDMI mode and that causes sync problems with the player.

I've reported it a thousand times, it never gets fixed, so the workaround is to disable screensaver on playback in the player context menu:

    PlayerContextMenu/Advanced/More Settings/Pause Video Display Screensaver > Off

There's no known issue with bookmarks - make sure the Bookmarks Start Time and End Time are set as you want them (defaults to 1 min from the start and 3 mins from the end respectively).

Yes I turned off screen saver.
Well you can add it as a known issue with bookmark, I'm experiencing it on a daily basis, and yes start and end time are set to default. Never experienced this issue with my old X10.

I've never seen an issue, or indeed seen one reported.

Depending how far it's out it may be to do with the GOP size - a video can only start on an I-Frame because B & P don't have enough info and the video would look data moshed. Standard GOP sizes are say 60 frames for streaming but for re-encoded content a standard size can be 250 frames which is over 10s so if you pause just after an I-Frame, you'll resume about 10s later assuming the shot hasn't changed that much.

Wait, what?!...recently "watched" (not watching!..read what I said) should not follow date from newest last watched through to oldest last watched? Ah, got it...wait, what? lol :mad::p

I noticed this problem occurs more often when I shut down my Zidoo while playing a movie. When I turn back My Zidoo on to watch the movie I previously watched and restart the movie, it goes back to the beginning of the movie not where it should resume (not even 10s). I wonder if I should STOP the movie first, then shut down my Zidoo. But when I feel sleepy I just push the ON/OFF button on my Universal remote and it turns down my TV, receiver and Zidoo all at once.
Never experienced this problem with my X10 even when I shut down the Zidoo while playing a movie.

    Sorry GOP, B&P, I- Frame????????

Ok - so any issue only ever becomes clear once details start seeping out. This is why details are important. Before we had the above post all we had was "some bloke on the forum can't get bookmarks to work. Not sure why, because they do, but he's having problems - any ideas?"

Spoiler - answer is "Nope, not a clue".

    With a shrug.

So yes, if you just inelegantly switch the machine off without stopping the video which allows the apk to register the state of the file I wouldn't expect the resume function to work.

Maybe the X10 would do this, dunno, that was a long time ago... but that was a completely difference SoC from a different manufacturer. Stop the player (by that I mean the software, not the hardware) more elegantly and it'll work. Pulling the plug is never a great idea.

GOPs, I-Frames and P/B Frames don't come into this in this case but it's worth a quick Google to understand the underlying processes. Knowledge is power. Always.

Well we didn't buy an EXPENSIVE box to be the BETA testers for Zidoo. Always making excuses for Zidoo and their lack of support is not going to resolve these issues. They just alienate their customers who will buy different brands in the future.
