I completely agree with you. I understand that you can't expect perfection, but what's really frustrating is the lack of reliability and stability when playing a movie.

I understand that you can't expect perfection from these machines, but they would border on perfection if only they were more reliable and stable when playing, especially Dolby Vision movies. HDR videos play great.

Exactly, and to answer everyone's questions, I'm having problems with both 4K Blu-ray ISO files and 4K MKV files. Converting the ISO files to MKV has nothing to do with it. I also have problems only with Dolby Vision; with HDR, everything has always been perfect.

  4. It's the same for me; the problem is with DV.

Has everyone pulled sample files and submitted to @Markswift2003 for testing? Is there ever one certain DV file that always triggers the problem?

Weird issue that just started that I need some help on. So I have a 2TB ssd connected via the Sata connection which I keep mostly music files and the occaassional video that is not for archiving but a watch once and delete. For some reason it seems write access is not working on this drive only. I have other drives connected via USB3 that all work fine. I tried to delete something from drive over the weekend but it failed and I could not add any files to it either. Failed every time.

Any thoughts on what the problem is and how to fix it?

Joining this discussion late. I bought my Z9X 8K late last year. Like many have posted, I had no issues playing anything except DV. Even though the cables I was using were "advertised" as high bandwidth and supporting DV, I opted to try a more name brand cable. My issue was immediately fixed. I haven't had any issues playing DV content ever since. While some issues might be Zidoo software/hardware related, they could also be TV, soundbar, or something else. In may case it was HDMI cable quality.

Can't figure this one out - has it just started happening?

Yeah just over the weekend as far as I know. I hadn't tried to add or delete anything in a few weeks but I did add stuff in early/mid June

I have both soft and hard rebooted multiple times and even disconnected the other drives and still no write access

Weird - I don't know enough about Android but I'd certainly plug the drive into a PC and see if you have any issues with it plugged in there.

I don't have that option currently unfortunately. I don't have any sata ports on my PC. I might try transferring everything off and then reformat in the Zidoo.

It seems like the "dirty bit" has been set on the drives file system allowing read access only.. It happens on systems where a non-generic file system is used ie NTFS on a NAS system ie linux.

As you have probably a NTFS formatted drive on an Android system this is possibly what has happened. Cause are a file stem error ie a write that was not completed or a loss of power to that drive whilst installed. . Solution is to connect the drive to a PC and to run a disk scan fixing disk errors and then "safely" dismount the drive from the PC and reconnect to your Zidoo.. So you are back to connecting to a PC is some form or other

The drive was formatted within the Zidoo itself. Never been hooked up to a PC or any other device and has had write access for over a year until recently. Just so strange.

Yes you formatted it on the zidoo but what is the format of your disk is it NTFS or a linux format ext3/4?. NTFS is a proprietary MS format,. Yes it is used on linux etc. but it is not native. So if the "dirty bit" gets set there is no chkdsk system for NTFS on linux to unset it therefore read only "sticks"

It is whatever the Zidoo uses as its default. I have no clue how to check

I use ntfs and never had any issues with any of my 16 24tb drives plugged into the usb ports with two USB Hubs.

I had my first ever crash a couple of nights ago on my 8K....Tonight I had 3 more....I guess these boxes take some time to reveal problems...
