Sorry, but I turned OFF Mediainfo analysis and still get stuck "Movies" folder scans. Is there anything else to try?

Obviously you have a corrupt movie file that the scan is tripping on... does it show you what file number it is at when it gets stuck? When you stop the scan and go into Media Center for that folder, what do you see? Try to figure out what file or files are named wonky and temporarily move it/them to another folder for now and see if the scan continues on.

    Here are my sources.

I want to point out that with the Z9X 4K, the scan happened immediately; with the 8K, there was a slight delay at first, but since this firmware update, what I described above has been happening.

Does this apply to all your sources? I see they're all USB - I assume on a powered hub or suchlike?

My guess is this has something to do with that or the database has an error.

I use multiple sources - not as many as you - I have 10, but they're all SMB shares, and I don't have any problems with automatic scraping.

How old is the database? The later versions of HT changed the database schema and I know that in some instances the upgrade wasn't as smooth as it could have been.

    We think so.
@thivame It is recommended to make an additional backup, then clear the data, and re-import the backup file and try again.

I’m having this problem with the latest firmware… As for my database, I rebuilt it from scratch when I was experiencing unexpected reboots… And the problem was still there.
The scan still runs, but it only starts:
Either after 5 to 10 seconds, or when selecting a folder... Before, I had no latency, or very little...
    I don’t have a hub; these are 2.5" HDDs
I’m going to rebuild my database again to see if that helps

Thanks for this. I started to list all the allegedly “corrupt’ files that get hung up whenever I redo the scan, and I stopped after identifying the first 20 or so. So to me, it doesn’t seem to corrupt files as I never ever has any scan problems with any previous HT version. In other words, it’s not just one or two or handful of files it gets hung up on. I mean, if I had all these corrupt files, wouldn't I have scan problems/stalls with previous versions of HT? I am leading to believe it might have something to do with what @Markswift2003 describes as the “database schema” with HT 5.0. So I guess I will continue to delete folder ad re-add my Movies folder until a newer version of HT comes out.

    Please try this troubleshooting:
    1. Add new empty folder on your HDD
    2. Add it to the Source
    3. Import a film to the folder then to see how the auto update goes.

    Have you rebuilt it?

It certainly takes a number of seconds to recognise a change in structure and start a scan and it males sense that the more "Sources" you have, the longer that takes.

I used to have only 3 sources and since moving to 10, I think it takes a bit longer, but nothing that causes any issues. It seems to take longer if I'm on the home screen, but I may be imagining that and again, nothing about the automatic scan procedure has ever caused issues here.

If you have network sources you can use Wireshark to see the box trawling through the folders - that's obviously not going to work for a USB source, but it's the same mechanism.

I am writing to report an issue with my Zidoo UHD 8000 (firmware version 1.3.05). I am using separate HDMI outputs for video and sound, connected to a Yamaha A8A AV receiver. Unfortunately, I am experiencing a problem when playing DTS-HD HRA audio — there is no sound output.
For comparison, I tested the same setup with a Zidoo UHD 5000, and DTS-HD HRA plays perfectly without any issues. This suggests the problem may be specific to the UHD 8000 firmware or hardware.
I believe this issue needs to be reported to Zidoo support team.

If you really want it to be checked out and reported you need to provide an example.... pull a small section of the file using MKV Toolnix or something and upload it to a file share site... which will allow Zidoo and others to test it.. or post a MediaInfo report for the file

So I had a weird and potentially scary situation happen last night while attempted to watch X2. I started the file from HT, went to the subtitle option to download some as the file did not have any and it downloaded and the message were it says subtitles set popped up and then the screen went completely black and then HT crashed out to the main screen. When I went back to HT, the file was not listed there. I checked my hard drive (powered external attached via USB 3 port) and the file and the folder was completely deleted from the drive. Just gone.

Never had that happen before. As this was a private 35mm scan that I donated to it isn't something easily obtained again. Thankfully the scanner was kind and reshared the file with me. I had watched this file multiple times previously so this was not a new file nor did I have issues with it before.

    Very concerning.

Just confirming that I am on the latest G-Firmware and HT version.

    Agreed this is extremely concerning.

@Zidoo Support-Kim @Eki Shaw @bob can we look at this - this is not the first post about the subtitle download feature deleting files.

If the user has all their video files in one folder this can delete he entire library. This has happened before:

Yes, multiple times to no avail. Do you know if I can downgrade HT to a previous version?

Are there any users in this forum who have successfully connected the HDMI audio-only output of the Zidoo UHD 8000 or Z3000 Pro to an AV receiver and are able to play DTS-HD HRA sound without issues? Please note, I’m excluding cases where the HDMI main port is connected to the receiver. If so, could you share the Zidoo audio settings you are using
