So, so far, one with, and one with no issue - I'll try a hard reboot and report back.

Update - same. press double back, or stop, same issue - watched status displays the correct episode and watched time, press play and it starts from the beginning again.....:(

I have not changed anything in my settings. I'm not stupid, but, it makes no sense why some have the issue and some not.

If it might factor in, I'm on G-FW.

Figured it out - I played around with a startup video and tried Digital Signage Mode, and it went and disabled the Memory Playback prompt behind my back.....D'oh!!

Where can I can get native firmware 1.2.40 Z9X 8K to roll back after update? What does the producer think about this?

In my case, it goes away and comes back from time to time but a simple HT5 quit/restart makes the work.

I don't know how it happened, but my Z9X 8K HT recently updated to 5.0.76. I searched the net for info about this update and could not find anything. But, since the update, my audio started dropping out on some of my movies. Also, occasionally, the system would crash and I would have to reboot. Again, I did some research and found nothing that solved the problem. Since HT 5.035 worked great, I decided to downgrade, but I could not figure out how to do that. So with more research, I found many users were using Firmware 1.3.05_G and having good results with problems they had. As I understood it, once you're in G, you cannot update to anything other than G. But with all the problems that 5.0.76 was creating, I decided to give it a go. The results are terrific. HT 5.0.76 with Firmware 1.3.05_G is magic. It solved most of the problems that I just ignored, as well as took care of the issues that 5.0.76 initially created.. As I said earlier, I don't know how I ended up with 5.0.76. Maybe it's a future update and I got a Beta version of it.

    Hi Markswift2003
On firmware v1.3.05 I'm getting audio dropouts during playback.
    Issue:
Audio suddenly disappears completely after some time of continuous play. Video continues normally (no freeze or stutter).
Temporary fix: Exit to menu/Poster Wall, then resume or restart the file — audio returns immediately and plays fine.
    Firmware: v1.3.05
Audio settings: RAW / Bitstream passthrough, Passthrough Compatible Mode ON
    Connected to AVR
Is this a known issue with DTS-HD MA in 1.3.05? Any workaround or fix?
I've been using this player for a long time and have never encountered this kind of audio dropout problem before — maybe it's specific to this particular series?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Because the Zidoo firmware becomes increasingly worse and unstable with each new version. Anyone who hasn't updated theirs is lucky man.

Certainly not me, as I had the most problems ever with that firmware version.

No, no known problem with DTS-HD MA in v1.3.05.

Audio should generally be set to Auto instead of RAW - I don't think this relates to your issue, but RAW bypasses the EDID and should only be used if you're, for example, using a custom EDID that doesn't support audio modes that the AVR/TV does.

If it's a Denon (or Marantz) AVR, make sure Audio input set specifically to "HDMI" - sometimes if it's set to Auto it can lose sync (this issue is not specific to Zidoo though).

When it happens, check the speaker icons on the AVR display - that will tell you if the AVR has lost audio sync with the source which may provide a clue.

I had the same problem with 1.3.05. I found that if advanced the movie 3 seconds, the audio would come back. But the sound problem happened over and over on the same movie and I got tired of having to fast forward 3 seconds to get the audio back. I was so frustrated, that I was thinking of going back to my old WDTV box until there was a fix. I did submit a 'bug report' and then I got an update to HD 5.0.76 (I don't know if this was related to the bug report). This upgrade solved most of my problems, but on some movies, the audio problem was still there. Then I changed from 1.03.05 to 1.03.05_G, and it solved the audio issue. I am now really happy with my z9x 8k unit.

how do you get the "G" firmware? I did the regular "online update" and only get the regular firmware. Thanks
