I tried about 6 or 7 different Footoo APK versions from different sources and couldn't get any of them to install. It would just tell me it couldn't Parse the package or would seem like it would work and then just said "not installed".

Edit: Nvm, I got it figured out.

Much much better controls than the built in wallpaper app! Thanks for the suggestion @blenky and for you for avoiding having to install G firmware.

Edit 2: After I got the APK to successfully install, I realized it doesn't work as desired without "premium". @blenky referenced needing to purchase through google, but I must have glossed over that. It would work if you selected the app, but would only launch a logo and not the images after the set time. Since I was hoping to avoid moving to G firmware, I had to find a modded version. Working perfectly now. Highly recommended!

 

Why does Media Player 8.0 send 4.0 and 5.0 flac files to the receiver as stereo, while 5.1 is sent normally? (firmware 1.3.05) . In my car, the Discover Pro Max multimedia system plays these files correctly.

 

Is “RAW” selected as the Zidoo Audio output?

It's one of the many bugs that came with the aml soc.
Stop searching for a solution. There is none!
It's a known bug. Reported a year ago.

But the message from zidoo is clear: Silence

I must correct my self. There is a solution: you have to edit the flac files into 5.1. Just add some silenced channels.

 

This is a hacky solution, and the AI suggested it to me, but I hope the developers will listen to consumers.

This is something I flagged up months ago but has never been fixed.

Also even when the LFE channel is present, channels and sample rate are correct but bit depth is always 16-bit

I removed it from the bug report after v1.3.01 on the assumption that it will never be fixed.

The Dune AML box has similar shortcomings so it could be something inherent in the SoC.

 

I have done it with DSOTM 4.0 many years ago. MP8 is not the only player that is clueless towards flac and it's formats.
i openend the tracks in audacity and copied the front and left channel into sub and center. and silenced them.
It is not a real solution: the processor thinks there is a center and a sub channel but there are none.
But the track becomes playable.

 

Could anyone with the G fw please check for me if the F1 TV Pro app works? If it works I would be switching to the G version just for that reason alone.

 

That is an old problem. I think first discussed by quad surround music on SACD (rips)

I downloaded the AKP and installed it. So far so good. However once the app started I can only navigate to left and right: the up and down buttons on the remove don't seem to do anything. Hence I am not able to use the app properly.

Do you have the same issue with this app?

That's odd, because on the non G version the UI doesn't seem to work well. As stated I can only navigate with the left and right buttons, up and down doesn't seem to do anything when pressed.

 

Since I reset my Z9X, I haven't had any video issues: no more black screens or stuttering (for now), but I can't turn it off—it reboots every time... I have to unplug it... At this rate, I'm going to throw it out the window... and four months without a fix... No, I meant without an update, because have there really been any fixes? Because what gets fixed on one side breaks on the other.

 

Hi, I want to put on a thermal paste, or heat sink... similar to this.... but how do I open up the case? Just looked at my Z9X 8K, there was no screws to split open the case. Can some one let me know how to open up the case to access the interior parts. Thank you
