This is another BD menu issue then - again, I have no way to replicate it or give the devs a way to replicate. And one thing I always do when providing feedback to the devs is provide a clear bullet proof replication procedure including associated files.

Yes, only PCM - you can't change volume of a bitstream for obvious reasons.

 

And LPCM with mkvs? Does that work?


Ive been able to reproduce the frame switching problem other than VC1 blu-ray. Many full isos when going through menus remains in 60hz.

I switched the UI to 4k/ 23.976 to avoid maximum HDMI Sync.

I sometimes see hicups here and there.

I only use blu-ray/4k/ full rips. No esotheric crap here.

Coincidence or not, since the update, I've had two crashes on startup, with the player stuck on the Zidoo logo, forcing me to turn it off with the ON/OFF switch behind the player, which I had never had to do before.

 

All the important persons in tech support have known about this issue for a long time.
But do the developers know about it?
We don't know anything about that.
All we can do is be patient and keep reminding them.

 

The volume on the second HDMI port was always turned up to 25. Volume protection was always turned off, and volume passthrough mode was always turned on. What I did was simply turn volume passthrough mode off and then back on, and everything worked fine again.

 

You just a little helped device to work as it should.

 

Possibly something got reset in the update - we'll never know!

 

Had a strange one just now.

End of Watch 4K, with HDR10 and DV. (I do not use DV, so not sure how much that part matters)

My HDR settings were set to Auto, but in the Advanced Settings, which should not matter when I have them set to Auto, HDR10 was set to SDR2020, and that is what was sent out from the Zidoo. I thought the movie looked kinda bad, and it turns out that the Zidoo was converting to SDR2020. In spite of HDR being set to "Auto", which should give me HDR10.

So it does seem to be possible to get it to output SDR2020, except it's for all the wrong reasons...

 

The next firmware will return SDR.2020 behaviour back to how it was previously - it seems that the AML SoCs do not handle SDR.2020 as well as Realtek...

 

Still seems like a flaw in the logic of the menus when the Advanced settings still apply, even though HDR functionality is set to Auto.

I updated my Z3000 Pro to v1.3.05 a few days ago. From the beginning there were problems with repeated crashes after turning on, 2 to 3 times, then it ran stably for a few hours until the next start. Today, it’s crashing nonstop—sometimes right at the menu, sometimes when connecting to my server, sometimes after the first few seconds of a movie. Does anyone have similar problems? Any idea what I could do about that?

Heat issues maybe? . Could also swap out to another 12v PSU long as its like 1.5 to 2 A plus ,just to take power issues out of the equation

 

Heat problems immediately after switching on? The Z3000 pro also has an integrated power supply.

In this case, I would disconnect the player from the mains for 10 seconds using the switch on the back. If that doesn't help, reset it to factory settings and try to work with the player without changing any settings. Then gradually adjust everything and observe the results.

If the player causes problems immediately after being reset to factory settings, I would contact the dealer for repair or replacement.

 

Is there anything I should worry about in HDR if left on auto?

 

Confirmed - It also sends SDR.2020 for HLG and HDR Vivid content too, but oddly not HDR10+...

Will advise the devs after New Year.

 

Other than the above issue, no, I don't think so.

 

Anyone can advise what I have to change in the menu to see Hybrid (hdr + DV) movies in DV?? Right now it´s always in hdr10, but I prefere DV. All the settings I have as it indicates in "recommended settings". And sometimes instead of HDR10+ it plays in HDR10. Why it´s not in HDR10+??
