Is it possible the menu/UI etc gets a prefered FPS?
That way no resyncs are needed and the machine keeps away from the disputable 60hz mode.
50 - 60hz should only be valid if the video demands it IF the setting is set to "matching framerate".

When in doubt, I'll check the AI tonight, just in case.
The problem is that I don't know which file to give you... Before resetting the Zidoo, the jerkiness occurred with almost all of them, but since resetting it, I've only watched one video... If it's okay, I'll try to reproduce the problem with several videos and try to find a file where the problem occurs quickly...

I must admit it's something I haven't seen myself but I've never seen the box switch frame rates on its own unless the EDID changes (there is an issue using Custom EDIDs which I've passed onto the devs, but it's quite niche and not to so with frame rate).

I'm using a Z3000 Pro with an LG G5 through a Marantz AVR and it's been flawless since I did the 1.3.05_G OTA update.
Most of my settings are "auto" with DV set to TVLED Passthrough Auto and HDR10+ to the DV VS10 engine due to the LG TV not supporting the HDR10+ format.
In conjunction with the latest round of FW updates for the LG G5 I couldn't really be happier with the setup now.
Having said that, sorry to hear some people aren't having such a good time of it.

    @Markswift2003 :
Last night I watched two episodes (same video encoding as the day before yesterday), and there was no jerkiness....
    I don't understand anything anymore....
I'm going to continue my tests.

    What Marantz do you have?

Are you playing content from USB, SATA, or network (SMB or NFS)?

SR6015. It was the first of the Marantz Receivers to support 8K, 4K VRR etc. I'm probably due a freshen up, but it ain't broke...

After a few weeks of testing I can say that I am definitely satisfied with the new update. Everything works perfectly, as it should have from the beginning. and the new interface modes are really nice.

Which interface models do you use if I may ask?

Lucky you. Now I’m in your boat where this fw update has broken Dolby vision for me with random microstutter. Sigh.

    Always from usb
Today I'm putting in new HDMI cables because one of them was bent behind the AVR and I had straightened it out... (And it can't hurt)... even though I had tried other cables (already used but not much)...
I'll see how it goes... maybe all my cables were inadequate or damaged for this setup, especially the Philips OLED, which is very temperamental... because they work with my Panasonic OLED...

Hello Mark, unlike you, this bothers me enormously because it occurs in most videos. My question is, if you can live with it, does that mean Zidoo won't fix it?

Yesterday, I used the music player for once because of the new AVR, and Zidoo always skips 1 second of each song at the beginning and after each pause.
It sounded really stupid when a song couldn't be played from the beginning, even if it was only one second. It bothered me even more than 2 seconds with DD and DD+ in films.
    Will this be fixed?

    Thanks.

You may want to consider my post again.

ALL codecs with the exception of AC3 and AC3+ start immediately.

This is either resume from pause or on starting a file.

(note that the only way to reliably test audio delay on file startup is to lock resolution, framerate and HDR mode otherwise HDMI sync comes into play)

The ONLY codecs to have any delay on file startup or resume from pause are AC3 and AC3+ and that delay is 0.2s.

Not 2s. Zero point two seconds.

I also just tested Music 8 with some 96/24 FLAC files and start/resume pause was immediate there too. I've never experienced any delay on music files with the Music app.

    My HDMI chain is Zidoo Z9Z > Vertex2 > Denon 7200 > Samsung flatscreen

On the basis of this I'd have to say that your problem lies elsewhere.

    Ok, that's interesting.

I'm currently looking at whether stutter is inherent in USB sources (this includes SATA since that uses a USB to SATA bridge).

Up until now the only way I've been able to invoke stutter is to use both AIPQ, AISR and AIPQ OSD, AISR OSD together. If I only use AIPQ it doesn't happen. If I don't use the OSD it doesn't happen. And even then there are further specific criteria to be met.

However, this has always been on SMB from a NAS drive so the other day I tried a USB stick and I was able to replicate (not reliably every time, but I was able to replicate) stutter without using AIPQ/SR. I've now ordered a small SATA SSD to see if I can do the same with that.

Where should the problem be for me if the Z3000 is connected directly to the AVR and from there it goes to the television?
That was the case with the Denon x4700H and it's the same now with the Onkyo TX-RZ50. I can name the audio tracks AC3 and E-AC3 instead of DD and DD+, but that doesn't solve the problem, and the delay is about 2 seconds, not less.
This delay is even longer via HDMI audio or eARC.

Let's not consider the start of the film, but a short pause, as HDMI does not need to resynchronise then, so that is not the reason either. With other audio tracks, there is either no delay or a very minimal delay of 0.x seconds.
Why is this not due to my setup or something else on my end in this case? Can you please explain so that we can find a solution?
