I like the 2 outputs. But i don't see a reason for an audio only.
The oppo 203 plays sacd natively over the main HDMI port.

My avr is from 2017 and has problems with dd+ over earc. So i like the extra output.
I'll bet it will have issues with DV/hdr passing through as well. Not the Bluray versions but the streaming versions.

It's quite easy to open but use spudgers, ideally two. Don't be tempted to butcher it with screwdrivers!!

Start at the battery compartment and work up.

    I use these:

22-25590 DURATOOL, Metal Spudger Pry and Repair Tool | Farnell® UK

I got it open. But there some alu-tape over the buttons.
So a software version would be nicer.

The tape is the button membrane - it's what makes the contact on the pcb.

You could always keep it away from the cat...

That remote responds to more then just a cat. It is a bit too responsive

    Hi guys,
I disassembled and cleaned my Zidoo remote a while ago (just out of curiosity and to fix some sticky buttons). Thought maybe someone would find the internals interesting — to see if it's worth opening for repair/cleaning or just to understand how it's built before trying
If anyone's thinking about opening theirs for cleaning/stuck keys/learning mode fix — it's doable, but be careful with the fragile foil and clips. Worth it only if the remote is really acting up.

Why 2 of my series don't have a proper name? I tried to rematch, but anyway it says serie 1 and serie 2 (Ludwig and Night manager). Please see the photo, how I can fix it?

    @Markswift2003 :
I think @svideo has identified the problem.
But what's strange is that I always lock it at 3040 x 2160. 23.976Hz, and despite that, it drops back to 24Hz.
Today I reset my device, set it to 23.796Hz...
I play a video. And no jerkiness... After 40 minutes, the jerkiness appears... I stop the device, check my settings... And surprise, it had gone back to 24Hz...

I played DV profile 7 remuxes yesterday on my Z9X 8K in continuous play for over 7 hours and not a glitch. I'd like to be able to replicate this, but I need way more details.

Under what circumstances? This I definitely want to replicate!

    Factory Reset? Which device?

Details of the video, video mode. Subtitles? AIPQ? HDR? DV? 23/24Hz? Framerate behaviour? etc

    Thats an Odd one !

@Markswift2003 could you get your hand on a VC1 Iso and replicate the framerate not switching when lauching with menu? also an Odd one !

A while ago, I told you about the jerkiness I was experiencing when playing videos.
My Zidoo Z9X is set to 23.976 Hz.
I had already noticed once or twice that my setting had changed to 24 Hz, and I thought I had made a mistake, with all the tests I had done to fix the jerkiness and instability on my TV...
Yesterday, because of the jerkiness, I decided to reset my Zidoo Z9X to factory settings... I redid my settings and locked it at 23.976 Hz... I watched an episode and dolby vision ( i don't know the profil) 23.976Hz no problem, I thought “ok, it works” and after about 40 minutes of video, small jerks appeared, I stopped and looked at my settings and the lock was no longer set to 23.976Hz but to 24Hz.... I didn't use subtitles, and as for the video details, I'm not at home, but before I noticed this problem with 24Hz, the micro-jerks were happening on Dolby Vision, HDR10, and 1080p videos.
When I pressed stop and then play, the jerks disappeared.

Yes - I meant to reply about that - I found two VC-1 ISOs and yes, both remain in the menu UI mode when the movie plays. I can't be sure whether this is because it's VC-1 or because VC-1 is such an old codec and no longer used that the BD menu structure is different - but either way it seems the upshot is the same.

Great, thank you - any chance you could send that file on PM (post to Mega.nz or similar).

Certainly if a 23.976 file is played at 24Hz you're going to see dropped frames at regular intervals.

Ok so i'm not doing anything wrong.

I dont know if the two problems with framerate are connected in any way ( probably not)

but i aknowledged this problem when i saw my VC1 movies stuttering ( as no other movies stutter on my setup) . So i wondered and check and saw it was UI framerate all the way. Lauching it in movie only mode it the workaround at the moment.

Do you have AIPQ on or off?

Setting AIPQ on is quite literally the only way I can get my box to stutter - although framerate does not change.

I must admit I don't see this changing any time soon - it's been a long time since BD Menu was worked on as far as I know.

Which is weird is that the BD menu is not supposed to be played at 60. The framerate should change as soon as the iso is played.

I tried this isos on m'y pc with jriver which support menu playback ( i suspect with the same base code as the zidoo, as it hangs on the same title menus ar the same place, when it does) but the menues ar launched in 23.976.

Yeah - BD menu is the achiles heel of these boxes - It's way better than it was, but there are still issues.

Ok - if you can let me have a copy of that file then that'd be great.
