    I'm seeing occasional micro stuttering when I start playing a video. The link is to a video that demonstrates what I see. In thee video its hard to see - much more obvious when watching on TV. Turning the video off and starting fixes the issue. This happens about 20-30% of staring a video. This is in DV which is 95% of my library. Not sure if happens in SDR or HDR10.

    Is there a timeline for fixing the audio passthrough issue on DVDs? And what about support for folder-based menus on DVDs?

    When I use Emby, I have the file in Emby switched to English, and my subtitles are set to English in the Zidoo settings, so why is it playing the Japanese audio track every single time? Also, arm subtitles do not work properly. They only work 30% of the time. I also have Emby set to remember my Audio and subtitle settings, but Zidoos player seems to be stuck on playing the Japanese track no matter what I do.

    Could do with knowing if you ever see it in HDR10 and with DV, what mode are you using? Have you tried other modes?

    It is with DV. Have very little HDR10 but will try. I use the standard TV Led. Will try others.

    If you set DV content output mode to HDR and make sure VS10 for DV content is off that will play the native HDR10 layer from Profile 7 and Profile 8 DV (not Profile 5 - that has to use VS10 to convert to HDR10 since there's no compatibility layer).

    It doesn't sound like a VC-1 issue but I'll check - I'll have to rerip a couple of disc though because I converted all my 2K BluRays to MKV years ago...

    what is odd is i find that VC1 is very well handled with zidoo. ( better than Dune/rvolution) . but i encountered this.

    instead of switching to 23.976 ou 24 @1080p to feed my hungry TV, its stays @ 59.9 4K ( like the UI ) . no idea why.

    I also noticed stuttering today. I think someone has already reported this. It occurred in two films: 2017 and Black Hawk Down, both 4K, DV, P7 and Dolby Atmos.
    I then tested other similar films and everything was fine. I tested the above-mentioned films again and they ran smoothly.

    @Markswift2003
    Sorry to say this, but I feel less alone... That's exactly what I've been complaining about since the 0.5 update...
    It happens to me too with 1080p... Pressing stop and then play solves the problem... But it happens to me almost every time.

    Ok, I agree - we need to nail this - but I need constructive and specific input. Not just " I see a stutter sometimes..." because anecdotal comments like that will always be ignored.

    @Markswift2003 :
    I will detail my situation:
    Philips OLED810 TV, a Zidoo Z9X 8K, and a Denon X2700H-DAB. Connection: Zidoo--->DENON--->PHILIPS
    SITUATION 1:
    TV on, Zidoo off, Denon off
    I turn on the Zidoo, start a video---> no problem
    Then I turn on the Denon---> the video stutters slightly.
    If I turn off the Denon, the Zidoo restarts... If I leave the Denon on and press the “stop” button on the Zidoo remote control and then press the “play” button, the micro-jerks in the video disappear.
    SITUATION 2:
    TV on, Zidoo on, Denon on.
    I play a video---> micro-jerks.
    If I press the “stop” button on the Zidoo remote control and then press the “play” button, the micro-jerks in the video disappear.
    Note: the change in EDID on my Philips (due to a CEC problem with the Philips, which causes it to reboot from time to time).
    I just tried connecting directly to the TV. No stuttering when I tried it.
    It looks like the Zidoo does not fully restart the HDMI pipeline when an EDID change happens during playback.

    A manual STOP/PLAY introduces the required delay and fixes the issue

    Since my Denon was always on when I was playing a video with the Zidoo, I hadn't noticed that without the Denon (Denon turned off, in bypass mode), there was no jerkiness.

    with an AVR or without ?

    Hi,

    I came here once before to complain about stuttering, and then after replacing the settings found here in the discussion thread with the original settings, I didn't have any problems for quite a while with over twenty movies. Surely a coincidence.

    Then one fine day, a few minutes after starting a movie, it came back. So I stopped it, restarted the player, and restarted the movie, and there was absolutely nothing.

    But it was exactly what you see in the video above.

    I installed the new version and watched a movie (THE PREDATOR in UHD REMUX HDR), and I didn't have any problems with that one.

    Wait & See
