I upgraded, but nothing to report. I haven't been able to reproduce stutter lately, even on files that had before, so doesn't seem like I had much to fix. Curious if the music player still kicks in on pause/play being hit, but not in front of it to check atm.

 

Yes it still does that. I asked for a toggle for that ages ago, but not implemented yet.

 

Nothing new this can happen. Power off and on and ready to go.

The API for images is not fixed:
Cover and backdrop are not sent via API or the Api has changed. Cover and backdrop are present within HT but don't get displayed in the Zidoo controller app (iOS version 1.0.80) while playback.

Version 2 is still missing some aspects:
Couldn't find anything there regarding posters, backdrop etc.

 

I have noticed stuttering, especially in series and more so on Netflix

I've noticed the following: Most Files play smoothly and in sync. However, there are some files, mostly with 23.976 Hz/FPS and DTS or Dolby TrueHD Atmos, that play out of sync. The synchronization isn't linear either, changing slightly faster or slower. I've noticed that if I switch the Framerate Switch in the Settings Tab (Playback/Auto frame rate/Local playback: Match Frame Rate or Frame Rate and Resolution) to "Off" , which isn't recommended according to various Forums, then these Files play in sync. The Problem occurs both, when outputting via HDMI/TV Speakers and when connected to the Denon AV Receiver via optical Connection. It also doesn't matter whether it's a 4K or 1080p/720p Video.

Is this a known Problem with the new Firmware, or could it also be due to my Hardware Setup (Denon AV receiver, LG Nano 75 TV)?

I've had the Zidoo for a Month now and am still new to this. I started with Firmware Version 1.2.40. I don't think I noticed the Problem there. So far, I've only noticed the Problem with 3 Files out of the many I've seen. Perhaps that's why I didn't notice it with the "old" Firmware ?

 

As an update to my personal update woes: eventually bit the bullet and turned zidoo off. Was expecting to need an emergency flash but all seemed fine and when attempted again the update was fine.

However after initially being OK the stutter playback, picture pausing but sound carrying on fine returned and is no better. No matter if 4K or 1080 rips.

Makes me feel it's an issue away from Zidoo. Network is fine - tested again yesterday and getting 1 gig from my unraid server.

Just seen Bulova's post above and my setup involves Denon x1600H avr and LG C1 tv. I'll test with frame rate too.

Odd, I have none of these issues....things that make you go hmmm.

On the other hand, great to see all these new members! Zappiti (R-Rev) or Dune had any new f/w updates? asking for a friend....

 

To be on the safe side, I have disabled updates. I am not currently experiencing any stuttering.
I do not want the horror to return, but this time with an explanation on the screen saying that it is normal.
I'd rather wait and see...

The frame rate is weird. It should be 24,000, but there are still some thousandths of a decimal place. Was this video shot on a smartphone?

 

I hadn't noticed that detail; that's probably it. The film is O Agente Secreto.
