Thanks anyway... I hope you already tell to the developers that many people have stutter randomly (most with 4k hdr and dolby but not only ) with 1.2.40(and 42) and with the previous 1.2.22 (and 25) the stutter was resolved... Please mark.... Im really tired to stop/exit/play or turn off and turn on everytimes i have problems...
With 1.2.22 the problems was fully resolved like many people says....
    Thanks

They know about it because based on posts on the forum @Zidoo Support-Kim has asked for information and the devs have asked me for informartion.

But as far as I know they can't replicate it and I'm unable to help because I haven't experienced it on either v1.2.40 on a UHD8000 or v1.2.42 on a Z9X 8K.

So far all the information is anecdotal and without something more substantive there's nothing to go on.

If you can give me something to go on I'd be very grateful.

say Mark, if i'm on 1.2.22 on my z9x 8k, and don't see stutter but a super rare occasional something... should i sit on this version, or work up to 1.2.42 ?? i would hate to introduce stuttering to make the box unusable, not sure the gains vs risk... the no rollbacks makes the choice more complicated for sure..
thanks much for all you do, we appreciate it..

Apparently, we need to do the same thing as in firmware 1.2.22. The developers claimed they couldn't reproduce our problems with firmware 1.2.05 and therefore couldn't find a solution. But they did find a solution with firmware 1.2.22!
We can't provide any files for testing. The player is simply unstable. Apparently, there are some issues with the cache again, which is filling up, causing instability. This doesn't happen immediately after turning on/restarting, but after some time. Typically, this is 1.5-2 hours of viewing or even several hours of inactivity.

On firmware 1.2.22, bugs are very rare. A few times a month, assuming I watch content for several hours every day. Firmware 1.2.40 (42) doesn't bring anything interesting enough to risk stability. If you install it, you'll likely experience an unacceptable increase in bugs, as in my case.

All I can give is my experience with both .40 and .42 in that I have no issues with either but this is in contrast to @rockmeloman 's experience above and I have no reason to doubt him as we've spent many a happy evening chatting on PM.

I don't know if this is a result of different content and different content source or whether it's environment, or a combination, but I know that my network environment is way more complicated and bigger than most so I'd expect if anyone was to have issues, it'd be me - and I really do batter these things to try and make them fail.

The only issue I have vaguely close is using videos with more than 12-15 soundtracks and given this does not happen with Realtek Zidoos but does happen with AML Dunes, albeit with more audio tracks before it manifests, I'd have to say this is another SOC issue. But then who has 15 audio tracks? And why? (yeah, @rockmeloman I know ;) ) so it's not an issue most people will be bothered with.

Yep, the no rollback situation is truly a problem now but I think it's unlikely to change.

To give you guys an idea how stuck I am on this one, with most bugs I will provide a clear description and a clearly stepped procedure to replicate it. Often this can run to a couple of pages and often with test files.

For this issue all I've been able to say is this:

"There are a lot of reports of stuttering and freezing issues with v1.2.40 on the forum- I have yet to see evidence of this, but there are too many people reporting it to ignore it."

And that's it - I can't provide any more information because I don't have any. There's a limit to how much noise I can make about an issue I can't replicate.

So all of this is particularly worrying. I sold my 5000, which was "almost" perfect and stable, only to end up with an 8000 that isn't...
But I am certain that the teams at Zidoo will not let us down.

Maybe you need to also add that users want to downgrade back to 1.2.22 because they believe that these are new problems that did not affect the older version of firmware.

@Zidoo Support-Kim Can you please make 1.2.22 available as a full firmware download suitable for a full system restore from any firmware version?

About 20% of the time when I start a 4K TV episode I get a stutter - looks like it's skipping frames. The fix is to stop and restart. I haven't reported up to now it as it's an easy remedy to stop it. I'm on 1.2.42_G.

Those with stuttering (so called random) aren't running any sort of background process, like a torrent downloader are they?

If I have an internet radio staion on for a few hours (internal radio app) and then put Smarttube on, it does not play a video until I reboot the box.

Today, whilst I was transfering a movie to the Zidoo via SMB from Windows to the Zidoo DAS, I played an SACD (DSD) track, and the audio was borked (same track I've listened to many times, now sounded distorted), and I had to wait utill the file transfer had completed, did a reboot, and then the same DSD file player perfect as normal.

Still sounds like a cache issue - @Markswift2003 you only watch movies on you box right? Via a NAS? USB or Ethernet?

I can say for sure that I don't have any background processes (third-party programs constantly running). Frame interpolation is disabled on the TV. AI PQ and AI SR are also disabled in the media player settings. I also ran ClearManager regularly to clear RAM at first, but I later stopped when I realized it wasn't helping.

Ok, so you running a Zidoo Z30 Pro on v1.2.40 Beta right? On the lastest Beta for my Box, I only get these issue under the circumstances I outlined.
