v1.2.40, v1.2.40_G Beta version for Z9X 8K/Z30 PRO/Z3000 PRO/UHD8000

Is anyone able to get UPnP to work? I'm on 1.2.40 / Z9X 8K. When I click on the app under Networks, it just dumps me out to the main menu.

All other apps under Networks seem to work ok. Gonna try 1.2.42 but wondered if anyone else has this problem.

Yesterday i noticed that my sources are contaminated with pictures of the posterwall.
That must have happend last week.
Are some settings changed with the last updates (FW or HT)?

 

You're going to have to be a little more specific.

 

my movies and series are accompanied by 3 pictures. The files are located on a nas. And i never intended to save the posterwall data on my nas.
I'm on HT5.0. 40 and the latest Z3000 firmware V1.2.40

I noticed when i accessed the nas with VLC.
I'll send a screenshot later.

When updating the HT is did save the data, but i have not restored it yet. Did the saving of the posterwall result in this behaviour?

Since I got the Zidoo Z9X 8K, I've been having a little trouble with CEC.
When I start up the Zidoo with the TV on, there's no problem, my TV switches to AV to display the Zidoo.

However, when the AVR is turned on, not switching .this worked with the Z9X 4k
my AVR is an AVR-X2700H DAB.

 

Did you as screenshot 1, Library "export" and from the closing line of your query to restore .? If so the answer is in screenshot 1

I backed up as recommended but did not restore.
I expect an .hometheater map backup

 

So you did "Export" rather than "backup" as per Library screenshot. Therefore this is what happens the "pictures" being the fanart and posters as well as the coresponding nfo are written as stated to the folder holding the media files. This is effectively a "kodi" style back up. Then when restoring your device select "use nfo data" on the device page

Selecting "Backup" creates a *.ztb file in the folder of your choice which can be selected when using restore The ztb file contains all the HT5 preferences effectively restoring as it was.

Export allows you to reset your preferences and then restore the file info rather than re-scanning

 

Technically, you dont need to rescan to make the restore function work. You just need to make sure the sources used for the backup are set up the same where you do the restore. You can just cancel the initial scans when you add the sources.

I deleted all nfo and jpgs on the nas. I even deleted the . hometheater folders. All is still working.

I appreciate English may not be your first language, but your statement (question?) needs to be worded a bit clearer.

 

Yes - to confirm what others have said, you've exported NFOs and artwork from HT Settings/Library/Export which to be fair is always a good idea.

 

I would be happy if it didn't drop frames or skip when I decide to watch a movie after having already seen another one.
Or when I start moving forward or backward in the movie to skip scenes, 90% of the time it goes crazy and starts stutter or black screen with HDR dropping and reconnecting.
Since I've had it, it has NEVER worked as well as my Z9X unfortunately.The firmware is released but the problems I had are still there, I think I should just resign myself.

 

What baffles me is the different user experiences with the same hardware/software..

On this one, I have zero problems, at least with my setting's (z30)

 

It's not the same hardware but the same chip and that could mean there are a lot of differences in the running order.
Then there's the one you connect everything to...

 

Wel some use the machines differently. im dyslectic and audio freak. So im less pleased at what zidoo is trying to build.
A feature that i was relying on is gone at the latest release.
The new background is highly disliked by me. Can turn it of in the list view but not on the movie\tvshow view. The audio output is still unstable. So we pray for yet an other beta

 

I have to report a bug aka hdmi wierdness.

when i resetted my device. It started turning 'on' when i switch 'on' my tv.
The CEC is completely shutdown. But still.......
I had to enable CEC and turn of all individual cec settings to off
and finally turn off CEC to stop the z300o reacting to my tv.

It is not important to me. I just report it for others that run into this.
