    Ah, ok.

Yeah, I've fitted hi-fi feet to mine which provides greater air flow around the unit.

In addition to the Z 3000 pro, I also have the X 10, X 20 and Z 1000 pro. When working with them, I am used to experimenting and I was calm because I knew that I could always return the device to its original state. Now with the Z 3000 pro this is not possible. On the old models, I also changed the system images with my own, by loading with a Launcher folder, and with the new model I also cannot or do not know how to do it.

@Markswift2003 Have you been able to replicate the Jellyfin crash issue (when opening the TV library), and if so, have the dev's been made aware?

I'm afraid I don't have a TV library in Jellyfin to try but it's in my bug report.

I was being measured and sensible! It is too late to return the thing! I'm frustrated as hell!

    Hmm.

"And again technical progress is destroyed by fear for theft.
It is such a sad story! The fear is so destructive an it has never provided the safety they were looking for.
The attempts are futile, borderline stupid and a waist of precious time and resources.
The list of techniques that suffered from this is endless."

This is a media player we're talking about.

Again, I fully understand your frustration although I don't share it because so far (and I've was testing these boxes for months before they were released) I've never needed to reload a full firmware image.

Bit of an odd one which I think has just started since updating last week.
Previously when I watched a show or movie, I would usually skip forward through the credits at the end. I used to find that if I didn't do this, the system wouldn't recognise it as "watched" & the episode/number tile in the series page would still show as white (not greyed out). I guess there is some threshold in terms of how much time is left before it gets categorised as watched. So, fast forward until the end of the episode, the system stops when the progress bar reaches the end & the system boots you back to the main series page.
Now when I do this since updating, the episode will simply start again. It's like there's no hard stop if that makes sense, just rolls you right back to the beginning.
Apart from the frustration of having to try stopping again & getting back to the episode listing, when this happens the show no longer changes to watched. Pretty annoying when you're on the first episode of a new show because this means that show won't come up on the currently watching banner on the main page.
I'm accessing files from a NAS via SMB, haven't spent any time troubleshooting yet, but it seems to affect all files.
Not a huge thing, but definitely think the behaviour has changed with the recent update.

Check your bookmark settings - they default to start bookmark 1 minute (deemed not started) and end bookmark 3 minutes (deemed watched). So if you stop a file after 3 minutes from the end it's deemed Watched and next time you open the file it'll start from the beginning. With TV series, if the episode is watched, next time you access the details page focus is on the next episode.

Just to mirror what Marks said ..

Second full 4k DV movie (Ballerina )played with zero stutter issues (usb drive direct to Zidoo Z30 )

TV epis all playing fine .
Havent had any of the rare box crash to reboot within 4-10 secs of starting something (was very random rare maybe couple times a week)

Havent had any more Loss of EDID bug besides the first one ,first time i played something after f/w update ...thou that was on a full shut down besides a few mins testing MCH audio file stability

It is a Media player shure! But it is the first to try to Atmos and DSD. So it is a bit of a '1 small step for zidoo, but a big 1 for music!'
Atmos appears to be the new musical surround standard. (and boy the bluray releases are worth the effort)
So for music there is more at stake then it "is just a media player".
I and i think more of us: hate to use 1 device for every format.
If eversolo/zidoo decide to ditch the video out and launch a dedicated MULTIIchanel music device then i'll start saving some money! For now i need to trust the development of this line of media players.

This update policy is a troublesome sign. ( you really don't want me to get into this) As does the alleged non-focus on music. The last bug related to the 'Audio only HDMI' is also very troublesome.
You @Markswift2003 focus on the video and thats perfect for the development of the video part. But who is focusing on audio?
Were is the betatester team for audio? Do we really need to wait for you to finish the video and start focusing on audio?
I really would like to know what is in store? Because now the z3000 and the UHD8000 are not living up their expectation on the multichannel audio part. ( and that is the only reason i bought me the Z3000, not the video part)

I've read that three times now and I literally don't know what the point is. We were talking about the reasons given for the inability to either reflash or downgrade and now we're into music...

    I'm lost.

If there's a particular issue, one that can be replicated, then I'm happy to help.

Particularly lost with this one - that's the A6 surely?? I have one here and it's fantastic for multichannel music.

Is it? Does it support Atmos? I can't find it.
all the latest additions to my music collection I bought are Atmos!
    (except for the SACD disks)

Ok, my 3 thoughts on the latest stable firmware referring Dolby Vision:
    - setup: z9x 8k / DENON AVC-1700h / OLED LG C1 83''
    - HDR Output Mode: Auto, UI Display Mode: SDR

1st scenario: cold-starting the z9x 8k ---> watching a DV-movie oder -series (2160p/x265-codec/mkv-container) --> absolutely no stutter (and I am very sensible regarding pic stuttering).
2nd scenario: scenario 1 (no stutter) + watching a 2nd episode or movie with DV ---> after a short time heavy stuttering appears. This is reproducable. It does not matter what I do (stop/tart/pause, change the settings, etc.), the movie continues stuttering.
Until I do a cold reset.

Someone in this forum named it a "Cache-prob" or something like that, for me as a user it's absolutely not explainable why the 2nd movie stutters after playing the first without a prob. Either a SOC-prob or a software prob, let's hope the best they will fix this.

Maybe it has something to do with the UI Display Mode? Or the Screensaver? Any hints but a message to the devs?
