So far so good, everything seems ok for me with this release in terms of stability.

Something I hope the developers will consider one day is hidding the system files in Media Center (Android, LOST.DIR, Movies, Music, Pictures), just like they already do with the .Hometheater file for example.

I thought they claimed to have already done that, but the files are still appearing.

its never stopped dropping those 5 plus folders on to my drives when theyre plugged in to the usb ports ,Happened for me on all versions of the f/w so far.
The other annoying thing ,is having to rescan the drives for errors EVERYTIME they taken from the Zidoo USB and plugged back in to the PC USB (has always happened ONLY with this Z Pro range ,and its also happening on my old windows 10- PC and now also on this New build Win 11
Doesnt happen if i take the USB drive im sharing from my TP link Deco mesh ,and plug it in

I’ve sideloaded the Roon app onto my Zidoo Z9X 8K. When the app is running, the Z9X 8K shows up as a Roon device on my network; otherwise, it only appears as an AirPlay endpoint. That’s expected and works fine.

My question is about high-resolution audio output: now that it seems possible for the Z9X 8K to handle output above 48kHz, can the Roon app on the device stream and output up to 96kHz (or higher), or is everything still being resampled down to 48kHz?

I completely agree with your message.
i was on 1.2.25 and the zidoo was almost perfect.....
stupid me, i update and now the audio dropout reappear!!!!!
    @Markswift2003
never had this problem with 1.2.25 , and now reappear again, very disappointed :(
try 2 files for now...one 4k mkv dv and dts audio, and one 1080p x264 and dts audio.
i will try others kind of files....
the video continue normally, and the audio disappears for some millisecond and come back....random,every 10/15 minutes....
never had this problem with last firmware
all audio option enable(audio passtrought fix,ecc...)

I've just taken the plunge and upgraded to the new Firmware from 1.2.22 on my UHD8000 - I'll be checking to see how things pan out later

Needs a bit more just hiding, it needs don't create directories at all. Super annoying on removable media

Never used Roon but if it uses the player correctly it should use the same sample rates as if playing from MP or Media Center.

There are a lot of anecdotes floating about but nothing that helps identify the problem - I haven't seen any playback issues in v1.2.40 at all.

I had an email from the devs earlier this week asking if knew anything about "DV Stutter" - I had to say no, as I haven't so far seen any such issue.

But my update route was v1.2.22 > .25 > .30 > .35 > .36 > .40 from memory so there may be an issue going from v1.2.22 > .40 directly - but I'm only guessing and of course it shouldn't be the case at all.

There is definitely a DV stuttering issue related to HDMI audio output, but we probably only detected this after receiving this email?

in my case i was with 1.2.25 , and uppgrade to .40 cause i was on holidays in middle (of 30/35/36).
but 1.2.22 and 1.2.25 i can assure there was no stutter ,and no audio dropout in all formats..... :(

    ps.
already ask .... is there a way to roll back firmware?

    No, absolutely no possibility

That needs to change. Even if it means you have to go all the way back to the initial factory version.

@Markswift2003 has answered this many times - it is a SOC limitation

No, SOC does not provide such restrictions
Considering that different users for some reason have different problems on different firmware, it would be very important for everyone to have the opportunity to install the firmware that suits them best
