To chip in, I've seen this from time to time here too, so well done for managing to capture it.

Edit - but yet to see it on the latest f/w.

Have it as well, not often a few times a month. On the latest firmware

Odd - I've never seen that in all the years I've worked with Zidoo!! Occasionally I get graphic anomalies - the selection bar in Media Center changes shape for example, but never a flicker like that.

I have a crazy issue with my uhd 8000. Is reboot randomly. Also in the start menu and i dont touch the remonte but is reboot too. I use the last firmware beta but the first stable reboot too.
I use dual hdmi mode to ambeo max and the video to my 77 oled CS. I dont use hdd inside or with usb because i have a big nas with 60To of movie and series.

Do you have the same issue ?

In my case, when I press the remote's key to exit the video, the unit looses connection with the Bravia 9.
It only started with the last fw update. The unit requires a turn-off and back on to re-connect.

I was glitch free last night.. I got the black screen sync's the day before, I did a power cycle (pulling power out the back of zidoo) when unit was on.. plugged it back in and been good. So possible issue with my power bar maybe?.. feed back? ..lol

So let me get this right - you're watching a video, then you press STOP (or RETURN twice) to stop the video, and the Sony loses sync and you have to restart the box?

More likely something disrupting the HDMI chain but as I say, not a known issue and not something I've ever seen - if I had I'd be on it like a rash!

I only had it once a couple of months ago and and a reboot seemed to solve it.

that was occurring to me repeatedly. I finally did a reset and started all over again, and it has not occurred
yup, the twice press of the return key does it.

    And that's every time?

And is it connected directly to the Sony or anything else in the chain?

That's an odd one - obviously the normal course of events is that it returns to the UI mode and HDMI syncs back to the UI mode.

Do you have Resolution and HDR set to Auto?

    I had simmilar effects.
The screens apears dead but is just in a non compliant setting.
If you use the app to change the screen setting back to ie 4k, 23,9 the screen reapears.

    @darkeyes909
does this help in your case?

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines - but that usually can only happen if you use a Custom EDID that has modes the TV doesn't support.

Or possibly if HDMI is running at full chat and the cables/chain can't take it (eg 4K60 8-bit 4:4:4, RGB or 12-bit 4:2:2), but I don't think that's the case here.

I have asked several times to be able to block the 60Hz option.

I have used a custom EDID but it was saved from my own tv setup. Why defaults the zidoo to 60hz?
As far as i can recall it happens only when switching back from a DV track to a HDR UI (or something similar)

The TV EDID only provides modes that the TV will support but if you want specific things omitted, that's exactly what a custom EDID is for. You can edit the EDID and remove video modes or even restrict bandwidth.

The only modes that generally cause problems (unless people specifically, needlessly, change colour modes in settings) is 4K60 12-bit 4:2:2 in LLDV and 4K60 8-bit RGB in TV LED.

HDR at 4K60 should be output at 10-bit 4:2:0 (unless you mess with settings) and that is only 11Gbps and shouldn't cause problems (unless there's a massive HDMI run and the cable is bad).

I have a similar problem. Apparently, it is caused by the same firmware error. I select, for example, 3840x2160p, 23.976Hz from the resolution list and turn off the set-top box. Then the next day I turn on the set-top box (to record movies on the internal SSD), and the TV remains off. The resolution switches to 7680x4320Hz without my intervention (you can see this in the smartphone app), although my TV does not support 8k. And when I turn on the TV, the set-top box reboots. And this happens every time. The only way out is to select Auto switch to best resolution from the resolution list, then the resolution does not switch to 7680x4320Hz. Mark tried to help me with this problem with a custom edid, but it doesn't work - the console still switches to 7680x4320Hz resolution, although I loaded a custom edid with a resolution of 3840x2160p, 23.976Hz

I can't understand why 8K resolution is available to choose?
@Oldpainless I meant copying movies from a PC to the internal drive of the mediabox via Samba. You don't need to turn on the TV for this.

It occurs sporadically. Maybe twice a week. Yes, Res/HDR set to auto
It connects directly to the Sony. I have had it since it was first available, and this only began with the last FW.

set to auto, connected to Sony via e arc imput. Only started occuring with the latest FW for Z3000
