With the longer and longer delays in F/W updates , we must be going to start getting the Next Model range Notes ,ie Same as Pro series ...lots of stuff the boxes got sold on that never worked...ie MCH Audio still isnt fixed
And itll be the new SOC with dual Video decoding ,so Full DV support ?

Is there any more information about the image, or are you just trying to build suspense?

I also received the update early this afternoon, and there's really not much to get my teeth into...............
I'd say for me: I can't wait for a real update.

Do most people agree that the HDMI black screen is fixed? I still get it time to time, if I stop the TV/Movie and resume, then it usually behaves itself (4K content only this happens) . If its not much of concern anymore, then I'll assume its a hardware connection between the box and my TV...

It happens to me rather frequently.

Not sure which Black Screen issue your talking about

The one i get occasionally ,is at the end (also sometimes at first start of something ) itll run the audio ,while screen goes black ,timer clock on device will be at around 5 sec mark .It will sit like this 4 -10 secs, then the box will reboot
This is most usually, after watching say a TV epi and getting to the end ,ill Backspace out fast a couple times ......seems mostly to be if i forget and rush that step
Then when i start next epi of something immediately after ,itll go in to the black screen then reboot sequence

Its pretty rare maybe 3 to 5 a week,so hasnt worried me

Bigger pain to me is just having done a clean win 11 build of a pc ,and Samba shares just wont see anything shared on other devices ,and seems to break smb to the zidoo ,every time i sleep or restart the pc
Tried every supposed fix on the internet and no improvement

Good to know its still a thing.. so maybe they will figure it out.. yes.. you can tell the HDMI rsync is about to happen, get small colour static lines run across the screen.. guess its kind of a small, screen tearing before the black screen.. then picture comes back with HDMI input logo and HDR or DV logo.

If you're talking about HDMI sync, that happens when resolution and/or HDR mode and/or frame rate changes. It's perfectly normal for HDMI (unless QMS, Quick Media Sync is supported).

How long it lasts and how much the image is disrupted is dependent on the HDMI sink (Amp, TV etc) and not the source (Zidoo). Some sinks perform it quickly - Sony for example take a couple of seconds, Samsung up to 5s etc. I used to have a JVC projector that took 15s. If you add an AVR or other intermediate sinks into the mix that can extend the sync time.

Hey.. True, my TV does support QMS.. LG G3, but the sync should not be happening 4 or 5 times when watching the movie .. then like I said.. if I stop the movie.. then resume.. I don't get the re-sync anymore.

No, should definitely NOT happen during a movie, but this isn't a know problem.
