i am not developer to say what is wrong but using tv led . I do see that CMv4 does not work good and picture quality struggles specially in DV and HDR is also not good

I'm afraid I strongly disagree - I have many boxes and players here using every SOC from Dune, Zidoo and Zappiti (I don't have an R_Volution - I see no point, they are essentially rebadged Dune boxes) and several UHD and HD BluRay players. The Zidoo picture quality in all modes easily matches or exceeds them all. CMv4.0 works in both TV Led and Player LED DV - in that respect the Zidoo is unique - certainly the Dune AMLs don't do that.

Why do you think CMv4.0 does not work? have you tested with a CMV4.0 test file with an EDID to match the Level 3 and Level 8 trim values? I have, and it works.

DV and HDR picture quality is spot on, both subjectively with content and objectively with test patterns.

There is no overt sharpening, there is no tearing and as long as you have your system setup properly, the image quality is state of the art at present for such players. The only minor downside is that FEL cannot be reproduced with these SOCs but that is of little consequence in the real world - it'd be nice to have but I hardly think it really matters.

There is an issue with the AML SDR engine where whites peak at 255 rather than 235 but that makes little difference to the picture and can be mitigated with VS10 or white level adjustment. The devs have been made aware of it but it's not keeping me up at night and I don't know whether it's a SOC or software issue - the Dune AMLs exhibit the same problem.

There are outstanding issues to be fixed, but there are no show stoppers on the list at the moment.

I can only think that your problems are caused by finger trouble. If you follow the recommended settings thread, understand how the various Dolby Vision and VS10 modes work, as I say, I have no idea what you're doing to get the results you do.

 

I cant make zank remote to work with Z9X 8k. It says Initialising and stays there. Any help?

• Mark thanks for reply. I agree with you to some extent as i dont face any issue while using LLDV. As Mr.Niceman also mentioned using tv led picture quality is whitewashed and poor. I face same issue. I have good colors when using passthrough or forced cmv4 but picture is oversharp. There might be issue with tvled option i have good playback using LLDv but picture is too warm

My current version is v1.2.25 how can I install the G version? ( Z9X8K). Meaning is there Fw v1.2.25 to G version?

 

I still find this issue a major problem that shouldn't exist on a player range of this caliber.

That some "convenience" or accessories options have bugs, or that some new features are still experimental, doesn't bother me.
But that the fundamentals of image standards can't be achieved is unacceptable, especially regarding the SDR signal base !

For many years now, I've chosen to have a video system perfectly calibrated to the standard, and my eyes have become accustomed
to this image.

So even if the issue with AML's SDR engine is relatively "discreet," it remains visible in a number of cases, and therefore annoying.
And the workaround using the VS10 isn't revelant to me, because just to get a correct highlight limit at 235, the VS10 modifies
and distorts the image on several other parameters, which is not satisfactory.

So regardless whether initially it's a SOC or software issue, since the developer team is aware of this, I really hope they'll find
a solution to fix it.

 

Hi there. The USB output of Zidoo is already compatible with the XOMS. Could you please tell me what kind of issue about it you've encountered? Also, more details like player's model, fw version, demonstrated picture/video would be beneficial.

Next update you can install _G version. But put in mind there is not go back to non_G.
