I keep getting stuck with DV movie files. Will this problem ever be solved?

 

I just realized that this device will not pull and play a trailer for the movie if Zidoo's own NFO file is the source of the file information. Is this normal, expected behavior?

When I moved to the Z9X 8k, I had my previous Zidoo device create NFO files and store them on my NAS. I then I had the 8k use those NFOs to load my collection into HT5. Now, any such file will not play a trailer...however, any movie I have added since then that used the internal scraper to gather the file into DOES play a trailer.

 

@Markswift2003 @Zidoo Support-Kim. Lately the box is doing a lot of hdmi resyncs. Even with restarting the box doesn not fix it sometimes. O few days ago it was impossible to finish an episode because of this. Everything I tried didnt solve anything. Black screen 2-3 times a minute without stopping. Yesterday tried the same file played flawless without a problem. After i did the update for a good period of time I didnt encountered anyproblem black screens or audio lipsync problem. On 2 atmos track now I encountered the lipsync problem. How could u explain this please?? The set up/settings are the same nothing changed

 

Also is doing the resync (black screen and sometimes sound off) on music player.

 

I've had this issue on and off through several firmwares. Thankfully doesn't happen that often now and stopping and restarting fixes it. Last firmware I needed to reboot box to fix.

 

I don't often blame HDMI cables, but this sounds like a dodgy one, or at least a dodgy HDMI chain.

 

Could it be Power off ,related ?

ie just shutting down, leaving box in standby ,so still carrying some residual charges holding crap in mem ,maybe
Over a few cycles of it ,the box starts to "drift :

I shut mine off each time using a Wifi Power adapter the PSU brick is plugged in to ,thus totally isolating the Box from any power source, and thus i dont get many of these "increasing" HDMI synch errors

these Alexa adapters ...really handy and dirt cheap

 

That seems very impractical and I don't see any advantages. Sure every now and then a real shutdown can do wonders but I for everyday use it seems overkill.
+I don't want alexa (or others) in my house

for me ,its as simple as Ëcho turn on the Living Room (or off)

TV ,Receiver , Zidoo and the various LED ambiance strips all come on/go off in one action

Plus with it on Alexa ,i can tell it to be on from bedroom and all ready for me when i get in there

 

Why is there an option in MP8 to go backwards trough a playlist? And how do i turn it off?

Why, if i re-order a playlist, does the MP8 not follow that new order?

 

It's a bit strange, but enabling the Dejaggy option has helped reduce the oversharpness issue to some extent.

I would really appreciate it if you could fix the SDR white levels and the HDMI resync issue (also known as the HDMI handshake). This problem seems to corrupt the EDID, leading to white-washed colors and various playback issues.
Additionally, some movies stop playing for up to 50 seconds after using fast forward, which is quite frustrating.

Also, I’d be happy if you could restore the old behavior of the Return key on the remote. Previously, after using the arrow keys to fast forward or rewind, pressing the Return key would cancel that action. That feature was very useful.

 

So I am also getting the weird black screen bug since the new firmware update, it will happen every 30 seconds to two minutes and my screen will go black for a second or two and then continue, at first I thought it was the TV show I was watching like it was an add break type thing but no it happens on all different content and is fixed by a reboot, I have had so many issues in the past with my various zidoo boxes but this has never been one of them and it's not the hdmi cable because I have tried multiple ones including high speed fiber optic hdmi 2.1 cables from QED.

 

I noticed the same thing after upgrading from z2600 to UHD8000. I have a post already in forum titled "Movie trailers not working after upgrading from Z2600 to UHD8000. Which I am still waiting for a reply on. I've completed several tests to prove this theory as well. If you delete and everything from a movie directory and re-rip the original movie it also then starts to work.

This is something dev need to test in lab setting to evaluate and determine a fix.

You were correct. Good catch! Deleted the hyphen from the title and the numbers were displayed. Kinda silly that this is a thing...

It would be great to have, in addition to one priority language (audio track and subtitles), which we choose in the settings, the ability to choose another, backup one. I have seen this in the settings of software players, very convenient.
