If you think Zidoo will solve all problems in 2 - 3 weeks or months and then we can all kindly do everything we can think of with the media player, then you are mistaken.

I am personally grateful for any tips from other people on how I can temporarily solve some problems in a different way. But nobody is forcing you to do this.
You do not have to follow the tips, you can still leave your player switched on all the time, pause for 1 hour or insert any USB sticks into the player. I don't do that and have fewer problems with the media player than you do, it's as simple as that.

Any tips are useful but,you have to understand, a bug where "if I put stand by zidoo more than 24/36 hours it will crash" it's really really really less important than any other bugs in the world.....

It's all subjective to one's use case. That may be the biggest bug in their Zidoo using world. I find the advice to just turn it off each time unhelpful as changing habits and remembering to do so is incredibly difficult ime.

For me, the biggest bug is that the escape key on keyboards doesn't work to exit apps/screens, so using my logitech bluetooth keyboard to navigate menus like I always have on my OG Z9X is not really tenable. I don't expect anyone else to care, but if someone were to tell me to just use the remote instead, I don't consider that helpful and am just being patronized imo.

Thanks Mark. I love these little miracle boxes either way, but improvements are always welcome.

I didn't know . I use myself the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard but only for login user abd password in some apps (easier than remote...). I didn't notice when using... Maybe i use keyboard with remote at same time ...

@Markswift2003 the wi-fi ip static vs dhcp is really important.please fix it.

JUST set IP & MAC Binding & Address Reservation on your router & you have static IP.

Ya kind of a weird thing. It's still great for character input and some playback commands as other keys work, but without the escape key, you can't back out of any menu's/apps.

I have pretty massive libraries and I have found that the keyboard is the smoothest navigation tool. A mouse with a good wheel is pretty good too. Much quicker than the OG Harmony One's I use otherwise.

Unfortunately I can't on my router modem... almost all the options are blocked ...my fiber provider give me for free...
I don't want to spend more money for buy a personal open router.
The static/DHCP IP is a normal options for all equipment...even the 20 bucks cheap Android box...
Strange that is not implement yet....
And,sorry for believe to be more important, I'm my opinion more useful than a "sorry but after 36 hours continues standby, the box crash....."

Yes, I understand, but this way it is possible to duplicate addresses. In principle, the router temporarily saves the address of a device that is connected to it and gives the same address when it is turned on again.
After this period has passed, it is possible to give this address to another new device and after you turn on Zidoo with a static address that is already assigned to the new device, there will be duplicate addresses.
It is true that the probability is small, but it still exists. This is precisely why address management should be carried out by the router, not by the devices.

my router is almost block for all option.... but has address 1-100 for static use....101-255 for dhcp so its easy to choose ;)

Does anyone know if there is a way to measure the speed between my NAS and the Zidoo?

I assume you start the copy process from the Zidoo or QNAP? On Windows you can see the speed.

In Qnap there is a resource monitor where you can see the transfer speed

The player with the latest firmware is much more stable. But I saw stutters on TV-Led once, switched to LLDV and the stutters disappeared. Since then I am on LLDV, but I saw stutters again once, but after restarting the file they disappeared. DV P8 files. Also confirm one stutter almost every time the movie was paused and then restarted( approximately 7-10 seconds after unpausing).
I turned off frame interpolation in the TV settings, which is used to increase smoothness.
Also the splash screen in the media box is completely disabled.

Can i put some perspective on stuttering?
Today i saw stuttering on "the last of us" streamed from hbo on a 1gig fiber.
I'm not presuming streaming services are anywere near local file playing. still it is the base material of a lot of files we test.

I don't think so. On other Amlogik players such as Dune/ Ugoos (also with Coreelec) media players there are no stuttering problems at all as far as I know. Only Zidoo does not get the stuttering fixed.
It stutters after the pause, after the start and otherwise arbitrarily during playback. And this is almost a year after the release!
