With the latest update I started having handshakes again in Dolby Vision movies with black screens every now and then.

And I thought we had finally managed to get something decent =\
To be precise, there are also some artifacts on the video.Really boring.

    Mark and @Zidoo Support-Kim

I’ve finally managed to resolve the EDID issue that was causing overly sharp images, dull details in some movies, and oversaturated colors. Now I can finally enjoy watching movies properly.
To get the ideal picture quality every time, I had to factory reset my Zidoo before each viewing. Right after the very first power-on following a factory reset, the picture quality whether in Dolby Vision, HDR, or even SDR is perfect in terms of color, sharpness, and overall clarity.
However, once the device is powered off or put into standby, the picture quality never matches that initial result, no matter the settings. This is something the Zidoo team really needs to look into. I suspect the issue lies with EDID handling, not HDMI sync.
Initially, I thought the problem was with my TV, but after multiple tests, it's clear: only a factory reset restores the optimal picture, which then disappears on the next boot.
CMv4 does not work every next boot after factory reset and I always use tv led in settings

Can you (or anyone) test this file for me it's only a few seconds long but you should hear if the sound of the intro is ok or if it stutters.
I have a bunch of movies with this type of dts sound that stutters. I need to know if it's the player that can't handle it.

And me. For last few firmwares I quite often get a constant resync issue. I need to reboot my player of my AV to stop it happening every few minutes.

Plays fine for me - no stutters.

in audio menu, DTS offset only affects DTS type audio and dolby offset only affect Dolby type audio

in the pop up menu, its a général offset, for every audio type your video would contain.

I was seeing some stutters pre this f/w ONLY with DV UK/Europe TV epis
It was still happening with this release ,but changing Forced Framerate (which ive always had on ) back to Match Framerate has stopped the minor stutters

Looks like it was struggling with 29.97 hz forced to 24hz

I hadnt worried about it before because it was only 1 UK series id been seeing it on ,every episode ,and no where else ,so i assumed it was just down to the encoder

Started watching another 29.97 hz DV series ,with this f/w and finally clicked it was Forced framerate at issue and changing to Match Framerate sorted both series while effecting none of the working ones

More a FYI for the couple with minor stutters to check, since almost everyone else hasnt got the issue now ,it seems

Can I ask why you had that set, rather than Match Framerate?

As, as far as I am aware, non matching framerates will cause stutter by it's very nature - some are more sensitive to pull down etc than others.

When everyone was reporting stutter on the first firmwares i tried different settings

With that on i wasnt getting any of the issues , my reasoning was i forced what the ress/framerate was from start ,and then it didnt matter what content i played ,it ,to my thinking ,was reducing any of the hdmi switching errors with all the chop and changes

Since i was stutter free for majority of the time ,i never changed it back
A few who tried it when i suggested it ,seemed to find things better that way

It was just with a new season of TWOT and one other ... so only last month or so ,i was getting the odd stutter ,but since only on that one season ,i assumed encoder issues .When another 29.97 hz new season was doing it too so ,on this new firmware ,i decided to change things up

Every other TV /movie was fine so it wasnt a thing i was seeing a lot

    More testing tonight :)

I wanted to watch a film yesterday, in this format

    upload_2025-6-1_9-33-14.png

Stuttering every few seconds, impossible to watch. I switched to LLDV, then stuttering was gone, switched back to TVLED, no stuttering either.
When I read other comments, it's unbelievable how unstable the media player is. I keep missing my UHD3000...

I thought also the problem was gone after the last update until recently.
I switched off my Zidoo for a few seconds and then the black screens disappeared.

Same as @blenky - plays fine here.

Nothing strange about the audio track - standard A_DTS codec - when you say you have "a bunch of movies with this type of dts sound that stutters" what do you mean? Stutters with what?

I'm a pirate (yes i know it's bad) and i have movies from 1 release group that have dts sound (the sound in the test file) that all stutter. Other "release" dts movies are fine, all other kind of sound is fine.
If i change the setting to LPCM 2 channel the stutter is gone but i don't want to change setting with every movie i watch.

Funny thing is it was fine a few months back, i have stutter in movies i watched before and were fine when i watched them so something changed and i don't know what.
I checked cables and both zidoo z1000 pro as the z3000 pro has the stutter but if that's not it, only thing left is my soundbar (i have a Q990d and that had a update a few weeks back)

Mark sorry for the inconvenience. I managed to figure out why the weather app on the home screen does not update. basically using the ethernet lan the connection is immediate. the weather app tries to update itself as soon as you access the home screen. when using Wi-Fi the internet connection is not immediate, it takes a few seconds (you can also notice it because the date and time take a few seconds to update on the device and on the home screen). it would be enough to start the weather update after it has connected via Wi-Fi, or give a few seconds to update the weather app. it is a minor bug but it is very simple to solve. if you can let me know. thank you very much

    @Majoha
Try the file DTS and works fine.
I have a q930d updated (practically same as you) and no problems with audio DTS

It seems that your TV doesn't support TVLED because RGB, 8bit DV TVLED output, in contrast with YUV422, 12bit DV LLDV for example. You might shouldn't use TVLED at all IMHO and possibly it won't be stuttering ever.

The bug with the Z9X 8K going to sleep after a day of inactivity is NOT fixed.
    • Go to music player, play some track.
    • Turn off TV, leave Z9X 8K on and playing through an AVR.
    • Press pause on remote after listening for a while. (Music pauses as expected.)
    • Press pause again in a minute or so. (Music resumes as expected.)
    • Use Android app to skip tracks and play / pause. (This works.)
    • Pause music using either remote or app.
    • Leave Z9X 8K alone for about 24 to 26 hours.
    • Pressing pause on the remote to unpause music does not work.
    • Attempting to use the Android app to play, skip tracks, etc. does not work properly, although the app shows a track as playing.
    • Turning TV on shows a grey (no-signal) screen.
    • Pressing power on Zidoo remote control seems to bring the player out of sleep.

I don't want the player to go to sleep. Ever. I want it to be always on and always ready to respond to play, pause, skip track to control music and output sound over HDMI.
