I'm afraid that both are intentionally keeping the race never-ending!!

Yes I agree, the Dune player app itself is solid, although it does have some weird and incorrect handling of DV, HDR and VS10 that most users probably wouldn't notice but I certainly couldn't live with.

I'm also very curious of this mythical R24 release, but I remember when they did it last time and it was a huge let down - all fur coat and no knickers! And the fur wasn't particularly good! We'll see...

But the race will never be over - that's the beauty of it - how boring would it be if there was always be a clear winner? It'd be like buying a Sony bluray player - tedious.

I understand why everyone is so p***ed at the moment - I get it and so do the devs. But hang fire - hopefully your faith will be restored very soon...

I also have the two boxes and currently using the Dune HD because of its far better handling of Blu-ray rips for the moment, but can you explain your remark about its incorrect handling of DV, HDR and VS10, because, I must admit, I didn't notice anything wrong (may be it's because I only play Blu-ray rips).

To be fair, Zidoo have pretty much nailed BD rips now - I don't have many because I don't use them, but all my test ISO and BDMV rips work now and the only one that causes issue is The Croods and that issue is with the Dune where preview PiP doesn't work whereas on the Zidoo it works perfectly. The only problem I see with ISO playback on Zidoo is in subtitle handling which is a bit random.

The BD engine on the AML boxes is completely different to that on the Realtek boxes.

I found the cause of the problem.. This is not a problem with the Z30 PRO or the TV, the problem is the Yamaha RX-683 receiver to which I have connected all my equipment, this receiver does not support HDR10+, only HDR10 and Dolby Vision. When connecting the Z30 PRO directly to the TV via HDMI2 set to "Optimal" everything works correctly, HDR10+ appears in the Z30 PRO menu and movies play in HDR10+ on the TV. Thank you for help. Best regards

    Almost off topic.
Perhaps this is one of the reasons for Zidoo's delayed development ???

It still has major issues with Paramount discs.

Dune have been promising a new movie wall for years and years. It was the main reason I jumped ship to Zidoo (Z9S). I don't think Dune will ever improve much in that area.

Really? I have a few paramount rips here and they play fine - I seem to remember they used to have problems with the startup language screen, but not any more.

Which Paramount BD/UHD discs in particular? I cannot recall having an issue with one recently.

    DVD ones are another story.

I only have one at the moment - The Truman Show. It won't open at all - I just get the loading dots on screen. I used to have Vanilla Sky and I'm sure that used to freeze at the Paramount logo. There is a list here:

You'll have to explain that one...

Are the developers/programmers common for all products from the group's brands, such as Eversolo, Zidoo, and now Luxsin? Since the first and new Luxsin X9 is coming out in June, this may explain the delay in AML updates.

In the hi-fi field, this week in France, news emerged on several websites announcing that Zidoo has created a new brand whose first premium audio product will be released in June. Luxsin's website is https://luxsinaudio.com From which the excerpt reads: ""Luxsin and Eversolo are premium audio brands under the Zidoo Group, dedicated to delivering exceptional audio products.""

    Hi all.
My first post on this forum :)

So from my understanding the diff between some version and the G-version, is Google Play Store basically.
But why would you not want to have the Google Play Store? Is there some downsides, like performance when using the G-version?

Think I recall mentioning/asking some time ago....checks notes: about the company going after the audio market, at the potential detriment of the Zidoo brand.

That was obvious. Don't blame them - there is good money to be made in audio. My issue back then, was about what would be their focus....now, if they can do both well, awsome.

More precisely, the three of them: Zidoo, Eversolo, and Luxsin … I hope there will be more engineers in research and development.
