Any ETA on a new firmware with a DV stuttering fix? It's been a month

Just thinking out loud to find reasons why the work is going so slowly. Suggest your own version. At least we found out that the reason is not in the new line of media boxes and that is already something (thanks to Mark for the answer)
P.S. I apologize if I offended anyone's ears. There is a lot of nonsense written in the topic of this firmware and I did not criticize anyone

No you didn't but you have a habit of moaning & groaning as well as being a Doom & Gloomer - may I extremely politely ask you to check your posts and place yourself in the place of long established members before clicking "Send". You have so much to offer the Forum imho

Well I hope Zidoo don't keep churning out garbage like they have done with the current AM logic SOC to recoup their investment because I foresee if the current mess continues with new players this will be the rise and fall of Zidoo media players.

Why! This SOC, in fact these zidoo boxes apart from cosmetic differences are the same as the latest Dune/R_volution boxes. It is just that the software/firmware are subject to differing development. So you make your choice and takes your pick So your critism is directed at zidoo software development?

And once again the reason why the Bluray iso playback is "better" in Dune/R_voltion is because they simply appropriated the "Bluray stack" from a commercial player without paying the BDA .
The media wall system for R_volution could be argued that it is slicker than HT5 but a" like for like" box is £50-£60 more than zidoo. And look what happened to the company that went before!

Why because almost 3 years later zidoo software team still cannot tame the beast (the AML SOC) to do the most basic thing reliably....which is to play media files without any hiccups. Going back to my original statement, if you can't do that reliably, then in my opinion given the price of these things, you are churning out garbage.

And back to my answer and Can Dune/R_volution "tame the beast"? If they can you have your answer
As I said take your pick? As you have strong views on zidoo's ability to fufill your requirements nothwithstanding current efforts to date I suggest the alternative supplier of the box and see how you get on there. As I stated on another thread I have the AML Dune box as well and not really much difference in operation at all.

Actually then Dune is churning out garbage as well according to your analysis and they I believe were the first on the market to offer an AML powered box

if players can’t play media files properly then in my book it doesn’t matter who the manufacturer is they are churning out products that do not do what they are intended to do, so why would I go with another manufacturer? I don’t pay good money to buy a device that can’t do what it is supposed to do properly...in my case I just ditched the aml Soc z3000 pro model and went back to the Soc that for me is working properly the 1619bpd z2000 pro.

This must be your first rodeo. I've owned media players from Zidoo, Dune and others for 20+ years now and it's always rough going when they are first released. The Realtek based boxes weren't perfect at launch either. I have no doubt Zidoo will get it sorted and probably before us Dune owners get the promised update to the poster wall we've been waiting on for a year.

The problems of Dune and other brands are not called out here. I bought a Zidoo that owes me an explanation.

The truth is that 1 month ago, with a lot or little lipsync problem, I would get home and be able to enjoy Dolby Vision content at the end of my work day. Until the day Zidoo decided to release an update and ruined something that was working properly.

My question is very simple: when will Zidoo fix the problem they created with the latest update?

It is simply shameful to see this inaction, I feel like they went through my wallet and they still make fun of me. I'm sorry, but you guys are a disgrace.

I’ve owned at least 1 or two zidoos from every generation and many other brands over the last 25 years as well. All media players have some sort of bugs upon first release, even the 1619dr’s and the 1619bpds had issues, I myself have posted many issues with the earlier models on this forum going back years but it didn’t take Zidoo nearly 3 years in development to get the basic playback reliable did it on previous models? No it didn’t because I’ve owned at least one of every other model so I know.

Don’t get me wrong I want them to fix it and I hope they do, I like Zidoo boxes they are my go to and ones that I do recommend to friends and family, but my comments came off the back of the previous comments that manufacturers will churn out new models on the same Soc to get their return on investment, if Zidoo continue to churn out boxes on the same Soc without fixing the issues with it, its essentially garbage just to recoup their money whilst customers are stuck with unreliable media players and that’s not acceptable in my opinion. The DTS sync issue has been around from launch, the forum thread on it was active since last September, it’s April now and still no fix, stutters, audio drop outs etc etc. they can’t even reproduce the issues and it all seems to be random..it’s very different this time, they can’t nail down the root cause, they can’t reproduce issues, which means they haven’t been able to fix it.

And thats the issue for Zidoo team atm
For a lot of people ,these devices are working fine ,with no stutter or audio delay

Which makes it hard to pinpoint those issues , ie ,they first have to have multiple test devices and also are they expected to test verse every TV .Reciever, and Sound bar manufacturer and every different Cable type
Ie from all Mark has advised us ,Sony tends to use their own brand of DV ,rather than the Actual DV standards they pay to use

I have Pana OLED Denon 3700h reciever and Z30 8K box and no stutter etc
Blenky has similar OLED , Denon 3800h Rec and X model 8k Pro ,and has the stutter issues (i think its Blenky :p )

So ,where would Zidoo look to fix the issues

Mark ,maybe we could get Zidoos permission to Post a list of the Alpha patches being tested and for what
    ie
A set thread, which shows the relevant info each patch , BUT with no posting rights on it cept for admin to update it

That way ,rather than every week or so we get posts saying Zidoo never works on the issues/never releases new f/w yadda yadda , we have
one thread keeping everyone informed ,with minor work required :)

I suppose one way to get rid of DTS lip sync once and for all is to not support DTS in the first place. :D

Not my case. I own both boxes and running Z9X 8K with great enhancement in response, configuration and image quality. Fortunately I'm not suffering major bugs like stutters and lipsync, then really happy with this SoC. When shifting to Z9XPro, I feel like going back a few years!

I agree! General enhancement and mostly PQ is way better. Last week I was having lot's of issues with stutter and lipsync, but after making some changes here and there (not only on the Zidoo settings... like audio "Compatible Mode", but also on the ARC settings of the TV), with my system combination I'm just back to watching movies and series without a problem and great satisfaction.
I still hope the Zidoo team is working to nail down the issues, because I don't think it's normal to have to tweak things (let me add quite randomly in my case) to get a device to work, but I also have to admit that I have several friends with Amlogic Zidoos (most of them Z9X 8K, but also a couple of UHD8000) and no one is complaining about playback issues... and I visited a couple of them and can confirm everything was playing as butter.

You're another who never stops moaning and groaning on here! Why? This is a members forum, I for one am not qualified to fix/repair Zidoos . Just remove yourself from this forum and go moan to Zidoo. I've posted how to do this already. Thank you

There's nothing really to post - there's certainly not a plethora of internal betas that people assume there are - they're few and far between as far as firmware goes.

I was sent the recent HT files for all boxes to test in the expectation that I'd release them later in the day, but I found catastrophic bugs in the 1295 version so obviously didn't release them - the others, as far as can tell are relatively stable, although with the the bugs I listed in here, but I decided against releasing because for the 1619 variants and 928S boxes they bring nothing new over v4.3.40.

I know the 1296 crowd would appreciate v4.2.42 but that takes the version numbers out of whack - but I may post that anyway if we don't see fixes very soon.
