Why 2 APK? There's only one to use and install.
The hotfix is only for the HT app... so nothing related with the actual player, stuttering or out of sync

I understand that the API should not work without a released patch, that's what everyone says. But everything works for me! I connected a new disk with 148 movies and 20 TV series. The new disk that I never connected to the player - all the covers were pulled up, the names of the actors and directors are displayed. When you select one of the actors, it shows all the movies that are on the connected disks with this actor. Also, almost every day after watching a movie, I delete it, disconnect the disk from Zidoo, connect it to the PC and add something else to the disk or transfer movies from one disk to another. Everything shows for me without updating. I don't know why this is so.

The UHD8000 player was bought in the first batch on the first day of sales to replace the UHD5000, the latest firmware, v1.2.05. The player has no lags. I am very demanding of the quality of the picture and sound due to the nature of my work. A couple of times the picture flew forward because I installed a new version of the firmware without resetting. After resetting, everything works as it should. The problem is with the internal disks - I do not use them because they turn off loudly when turned off, so I worry about their safety. There is also a problem with the remote control, most often a single press scrolls through 2 items - you need to press very carefully and slowly so that the cursor does not jump to 2 lines. I watch content exclusively from external drives connected via USB

I didn't claim that there are no problems - they do exist, but my indignation is not caused by the player's operation in general, but by the fact that TMDB works for me although it shouldn't because of the API. And my message was specifically related to this "problem" and not to the player's operation in general. You can call me and I will go through each setting item with you. I use OPPO 205 with custom AF firmware to listen to music. Zidoo is used exclusively for watching movies. My own edid is set by default and a full reset is performed before and after the firmware (with all drives disconnected). Initially, there were problems (several days) with synchronization since I did not reset when updating. After the reset, everything works fine. Although yes, a couple of times the sound still lagged on content with a frame rate of 25. Pausing or rewinding forward / backward solved the problem.

 

With the new apk the selecting of an actor shows it movies again that I own...although I use TMM for the info files and covers .

I installed the new version zidoo_poster_S928_v4.3.37_Beta.apk.

Well it is possible to install an earlier version of the HT apk - only problem is there aren't any out in the wild and I'm afraid I don't have a copy of that version.

But why do you want to go back to that one? The scraper won't work because the TMDB API key is now defunct so if you add more content you wouldn't be able to scrape it?

 

The movie media info takes a long while to populate, anyone else noticed this?

Clearing cache of the app helps some.
After clearing cache I could also select audio and subtitles again

No, I just wondered if it was possible to roll back an apk like on Android to a previous version. I wanted to simulate a situation: zidoo stopped (let's say) supporting its product, does that mean the player became a brick? The same OPPO doesn't care about anything and everything, it hasn't been updated for 6 years but still plays everything better than anyone else. I want to roll back and "poke around in the settings" out of boredom)))

 

Ok, I fully understand that because I've always tried to protect against a similar thing.

I used to use Dunes years ago in the old Sigma days, and I'd always use yaDIS to scrape and create the jukebox - in fact I decompiled and rewrote my own version to include later codecs, graphics etc because it had become abandonware - but one of the reasons I used it was that I knew I could keep using it if the scraper suddenly stopped working.

As far as Zidoo goes I honestly don't have any worries in that respect at all, however, if I did, I know that the box would just keep working because I could simply use externally generated NFOs and local art for the scraper and I'd have no reliance on any so called cloud services etc unlike Dune or ReZappitilution - the former needing to maintain a connection to the Dune servers to allow Dolby Vision and BD Menus to work (goodness knows why!!) and the latter relying on cloud service for the jukebox.

Not everything! But yeah. It's ridiculous that a 2016 model is still outperforming most.
My oppo does not gapless play dsd files.
Also dv is not really working ok. Especially the 'new' types

 

DSD256 support and gapless playback are available on the UDP-205, when connecting an external digital audio signal to the USB DAC input with Audiophile Firmware installed
