    @Markswift2003
I’m honestly a bit surprised by this post. Sharing that you’re chopping wood and enjoying a nice Italian wine is one thing — but suggesting we look into other brands like Dune or R.Volution? That feels off.

Imagine if Tim Cook responded to a service outage by telling users to check out Samsung or Huawei instead… and then casually added, “It’s sunny outside, grab a beer.” It just doesn’t sit right.

You mentioned earlier that a fix had been received?? Can you please provide an update on when this fix will be implemented, or what steps are needed to make it work? The issue has been ongoing for quite some time, and it’s becoming increasingly frustrating without clear communication or a timeline.

Thanks for understanding — we really appreciate a transparent update.

Just in case my post is being mis-understood...

People chose Zidoo over Dune et al, because of Mark....but, if I where Mark, I'd feel a little let down right now, and in a tough spot.

Maybe it’s an English thing, but does nobody do irony any more?

Well, I had the lighter fluid out and was ready to set my hair on fire and then come here and run in circles shouting about the end of mankind as we know it, but I decided to buy some donuts instead. Thanks Mark!

I find these issues very annoying, but as you say, "first world problems".

    Yeah, I re-read in case I missed something....so, yeah, I did miss a little - the SOC I guess.

So, back full circle of what I said....We are here, and not in the Dune or R_...Zapitti forums.

    Sure is frustrating.

If anyone can fix the SOC shortfall, my money is still on Zidoo.

Probably the worst response of a representative i've read so far.
So, your solution to the problem with YOUR product is to tell us its a first world problem and/or to get out and drink some wine.
Hhhmmmmm STRANGE Mark how you didnt say that before we bought your product? Why didnt you say something like, you dont need zidoo player, go out and play, go out and get drunk etc.
I never read in purchase description what i can and cannot do with my player. It didnt say dont use pirated material on your lovely website although you KNOW for whom your product is being made for and who you sell it. There are people who pirate and who use it as rip backup for movies.
Its not the end of the world but i dont know and maybe im crazy but i like when i buy something that it works as ADVERTISED.

Image you buy a car and when it brakes your dealer tells you: ohhh pathetic customer, its a first world problem. You can walk, take a bus and by the way have drink of some wine.

I follow the news Mark and unless your factory is directly affected by war or something similar then dont bring it in this conversation.
But still, you come here and insult your customers by calling them lazy thiefs that dont go out and stay in their mothers basement. PATHETIC.

P.s none of this posts would happen if we atleast received what i originally wrote.
Notify your customers about upcoming problems, it should be your obligation as a company that supports their products.

do some folks really think that being rude and aggressive on an internet forum will bend things to their will?

    Hi Mark,

It's honestly disappointing, because this entire issue could have been avoided if Zidoo had acted with professionalism and transparency.

Let me walk you through the user experience. First, you notice that something’s not working. Then you have to determine whether it’s an isolated issue or something broader, like a TMDB outage. After some digging, you check TMDB's service status. Hours later, you head over to the Zidoo forum — and you feel slightly relieved to see it's not just you.

But then comes the frustrating part. You follow the discussion, you see users raising valid concerns — and yet there’s no clear response, no estimated timeline for a fix, not even acknowledgment from Zidoo. Instead, we’re met with sarcastic or dismissive replies, which adds to the frustration.

Genuinely, what are our options other than reporting it here?

    • Is there a direct way to contact Zidoo?

    • Are they aware of the issue?

    • Are they actively working on it?

    • Is a fix coming?
Right now, we’re left in the dark — just waiting and hoping. From my perspective, I’ve paid top dollar for two Zidoo devices, and I think it’s fair to expect a certain level of support and communication in return.

With all due respect, I hope you understand where I’m coming from.

Dunno tbh but they usually haven't read through the forum before posting. Would've thought they'd know it's a members forum as well

 I understand complaining. I do it too, but the rudeness and testosterone filled aggression is just foolish posturing from internet couch warriors.
Going after Mark with personal attacks is NOT OK!

There goes another post from a 2-post member, just before mine. Rather patronising if you don't say!

I don't envy Markswift2003, he has to defend a bad product
He gets criticized from all sides
Considering the great help I've received from him, he probably deserves it

    I'm patiently waiting
I waiting for other things than most.
Since the the oppo 203 there has been nothing for me to write about.
I praise the lord that sacd is finally working.
I skip the netflix dv series for now and don't play multi-channel flac. Dv is not worth the upset!
Cheer up! We will get there, i hope.
In the meantime im blown away with the things the z3000 does. Sure i want the rest fixed, even before yesterday! o_O
    Go zidoo go :D

Sorry if t feels like patronizing, it wasn't my intention. I tried to structure my standpoint the best I could in a polite way. Nothing more than that?

mark's post, which I respect, is not the most respectful in the way it was written...
you have to understand that some people have had to save and make efforts to be able to buy this kind of box (I know some people), only to have more and more problems, which is very frustrating.

I think what mark meant to say is that , there is more to life than media players.

like enjoying other pleasures ( sun, wine, friends, etc).

Mark does not work for zidoo. He helps us in his free time and as often as he will. His skills are a blessing for us.

    try reaching R_volution Customer service or Dune's. good luck with that ! ( i come from a R_volution. so , i know.)

i too have a Zidoo 8K. i do feel concerned about bugs. R_volution have bugs too. Dune too. people with HTPC have bugs too.

Having a new firmware every month or so is already pretty amazing to be fair. and yes fixing things can bring new problems. as in any device requiring coding and interfacing.

i want to thank mark. for his time. patience. expertise. and yes, i think enjoying the sun and chopping wood, is a pretty good alternative to movies. ( as long as the axe does not have bugs!)

Frustration does not play well with patience. please keep faith and trust.

    My two cents.
