Maybe it's something to do with a way streaming services encode their content?

Many tv shows are not as good on Zidoo vs other players

You should try it a few times in LLDV
    The Gorge plays fine

The Gorge is made by Apple TV, right? The other ones are from Netflix

I'd look into metadata of those files

In HDR10 I have no stuttering, only in LLDV there is stuttering.

The Gorge is 23.976, according to metadata

    I can confirm!
All three Netflix movies stutter only with LLDV.
    1.Rebel Moon part 1
    2.Rebel Moon part 2
    3.The Electric State

What they have in common is that all three are 24hz Dolby Digital Plus

I tested another movie like: All Quiet On The Western Front, which is also 24hz but does not have Dolby Digital Plus and I tested it with Dolby TrueHD and Dilby Digital 5.1, but there was no stuttering.

The Gorge which is also with Dolby Digital Plus, does not stutter but it is 23.976hz.

    Got it!

My hypothesis is it's probably something with Netflix specifically?

My movies all play fine, when they stutter simple restart is enough to fix.
For electric state it's not fixable =/

Oh, I see that All Quiet on the western front is also from Netflix

I have no idea then what's going on

Later I will try movies from Netflix that are not 24 hz

Watched yesterday Panic Room (2002) 4K BD Remux mit DV, 23.976 fps, E-AC3 Audio. Player is set to LLDV. Started with stuttering, after the film restart everything was fine until the end of the film.

I hadn't really been noticing stuttering too much, but I also had it with The Electric State last night. Switching from TV Led to LLDV seemed to solve it, but I fell asleep pretty quick after, so might have happened again.

OK I did the following tests with several movies, all from Netflix and it is definitely related to Netflix. I tested six movies from Netflix and I definitely get stuttering at some point (not always). With The Electric State it is most easily detected at the beginning. (All tests were done with LLDV) (With HDR10 all movies have no problems)

Today i searched for a netflix series.
Found 1, and it is a dv series.
    The residence
Now i finnaly get what you are talking about.
Does netflix got there 'own' DV format?
Some trick to stop us watching on uncertified devices?

Upon further testing (I spent maybe 4 hours tonight in total) I managed to watch the electic state without any stutters. I Also tried a lot of other TV Shows and it was OK.
I have also tested the TV Show called The day of the jackal, which is 25 Hz and was not playing correctly on previous firmware. Today it was playing perfectly.

By going back and forth I sometimes managed to reproduce stutters on Netflix titles and TV Show Andor. To fix sttuters I needed to restart a movie or episode. Sometimes multiple times to get smooth playback, very annoying!
I am using TV Led passthrough mode.

So maybe it's just random, maybe it's HDMI handshake issues, I really don't know anymore - it's weird.

Another thing I noticed is that some old blurays I have are better handled by Zidoo than Dune! I heard that Dune was famous for Blu Ray support - yet this movie Troy, which is also VC-1, is better handled by Zidoo (loads faster, menu looks better, on dune menu and episode selection look purple)
Also the Dark Knight blu-ray is working on Zidoo and can not be opened via "menu" option on Dune

I have also been comparing picture quality of Zidoo vs Dune. In my opinion, Zidoo is a bit sharper and detailed (but you really have to look for it). I personally prefer Zidoo's picture. I believe if I was subjected to a blind test (haha) - I wouldn't tell these players apart.

I use the 2016 Dolby Atmos setup disc (pink and black cover). Nothing has worked as well as this disc in the past. You can never trust the noise generators of surround processors. That is most definitely the case with my Lyngdorf MP-60 2.1. Which is odd but it is what it is.

I haven't used my Z3000 much since buying it but I tried again last night after I heard about a new FW release. After pausing GoT (4k) for a little while, and hitting play again, it froze three different times. The only way to fix it is to back out and then start it again. I learned that the only way to pause it was to back out of the file. This is through the Emby app as I have no desire to try in HT5.0.

Also, 4:3 DVD rips are still being stretched 1-2" on each side on my 83" G4. Looks like hell, so they're completely unwatchable on the Zidoo. Same rips look great (for being 480) on my ShieldTV.

What's the poster wall like? How is forced sub support? I'm on the market for a different player.

Fair enough, then don’t discuss dune related reviews on a zidoo forum.
