do the manual update ,then once thats all run go to settings and make sure OTA beta is turned on or even try a search for update from there,if it wont do manually from there ,it will OTA in next day or so probably

Only sliding back on timeline a few secs sorted it
Like last movie it happened on ,it was around the 44/45 minute mark

 

For my Synology NAS, it needs to be SMB1 and SMB3.

 

I'm having some problem with the audio I had first to standard update 1.30. Then I updated to the beta 1.70 but the audio keeps on cutting out. I have the zidoo z3000 pro and I'm using the two HDMI ports one for video and one for audio. The movie that I watched was avatar the Way of the water about 50 minutes in when he blows the horn. I tried it on my Nvidia shield and it has no issues.
After testing all day and trying all the settings finally found the issue the movie is glitching that is why the sound cuts off how is this possible zidoo. Your players should be able to play every file perfectly it only has 2 Jobs sound and picture this is just crazy I have a cheap Nvidia Shield have never had any problems with that unit. I bought this expensive zidoo and it can not play the files as it should this is extremely bad.

Hi All, since i have update the 8000 to this firmware (1.1.70), my 4k movie have now again interruptions every few minutes, my movie are in the BDMV format, but i tryed it also with iso, same effect.
It's possible to get the firmware 1.1.60 back? can i download them someware?

 

I use even smb2 + large mtu and smb3, no problems either.

 

After some connection issues with SMB2-3, it fixed when changed to SMB1-3, same as my old Zappiti.

 

long pauses only, short pauses are ok

 

could it be to do with the auto screen saver that kicks in after a longer pause

ie hdmi handshaking because the box switches from 4k dv/vs10 to whatever the screen saver images are ( im assuming lower res ,since its been same one for 3 or 4 plus generations of boxes
What if we added some 4k images instead for the SS ,so less/no hdmi handshaking changes?

having a look at the images in the zd daydream folder , 3 of the 4 were only 1080p and first was 2160p, so might those swapping ,once in screensaver mode,cause some hdmi handshake issues ?

ive deleted the 3 x 1080p and added some 2160p images to test out

 

I updated my base version on my Z9X 8k from v1.1.38 to v1.1.38_G, turned on beta updates and it went to v1.1.60_G and then v1.1.70_G.

I have not tested everything, but I have tested Roon. It's still not behaving like a Roon Ready device. My Roon Remotes do not see the Z9X 8K unless I have the Roon App running on the Z9X 8K. And then the audio is still being resampled. Bummer.

Does anyone have a different experience that can advise if there is a setting I need to change to stream bit-perfect multichannel audio in Roon to the Z9X 8K?

I appreciate the assistance from the community I've received so far. Thank you to everyone who posted answers to my questions yesterday. I'm genuinely impressed. Even though my Z9X 8K isn't doing everything I want (yet), I still love it, it's doing lots of other things very well.

 

Yes - that could be it.

There's a bug (reported) where if screensaver activates when a video is paused, the screensaver uses the UI mode and not the current video mode (resolution, HDR mode and refresh rate).

This causes an unwanted HDMI resync on screensaver and resume.

It also causes a black screen on resume if <OK> button is used.

Another possibility is drives going to sleep - this happens to me if I pause for too long - I don't get stuttering, but there's an instant resume which uses the NAS box's cache and then the image pauses for a few seconds while the drive wakes up. Oddly only my WD EX2s do this, other WD NAS boxes don't. Annoying, but nothing to do with Zidoo.

 

I have noticed some very strange behavior. When I reconnect my Zidoo player to my OLED after using it with an LED TV, the video quality is excellent (DV, HDR, and SDR)—about 95% as good as a UHD player. However, before this, the playback was chaotic, with issues like jerky motion, a whitewashed image, or an overly sharp picture. After switching it on and off a couple of times, the problem seems to return, with the overly sharp image reappearing. This issue needs to be resolved, whether it’s related to HDMI handshake or an EDID problem. It got some issue with OLED tvs.

i think its due to first image in the Z_daydream folder is 2160p ,the next 3 are 1080p images , so its possibly tied to when SS flips to 2nd 3rd 4th images

I deleted 2 3 4 and added a bunch of 2160p images and tried pausing a few times during the night and letting it go to SS mode and even letting it switch a few times ,and couldnt get it to fail to the paused vid while audio continues, in any testing last night

 

No idea.

There's no such thing as a "stable release".

At some point a firmware might be flagged as a Release firmware, but nothing magical happens to it.

Heaven knows!! Everybody is waiting to get it.

 

I'd hope so - I'm running an internal here so it can't be far away...

But I'm not making any predictions - that always bites me on the arse.
