Your point is clear Mark. With the UHD3000 I had no such problem and Dolby Vision movies were perfect. The strange thing is that if I unplug the HDMI cable from the main port on the Zidoo, the problem goes away and the audio no longer stutters. What could be done to fix this? Do you have any suggestions?

I've had this with lossy audio for the last few firmwares - never with lossless. It's annoying but pressing pause and then play brings audio back.

    Try another HDMI cable?

Honestly I haven't tried changing the cable but I doubt that it could be the culprit. Anyway I'll try to change it later.

    Extremely doubtful that's the problem.

Have you tested connecting Z9X > Denon > TV without using a separate audio HDMI.

I know the Denon is an older model, but Dolby Vision was designed to work on HDMI 1.4 at 23~30Hz (not sure what the A1HD uses).

As soon as I get home, I'll try this setup and let you know.

I don't have a Z9X but a UHD8000. I just tried and connecting the main HDMI port directly to the Denon AVC-A1HD, the problem goes away and the audio doesn't stutter anymore.
After I tried to change the audio only hdmi cable with two other hdmi cables but the problem remains. As we thought, it is not a hdmi cable problem

I got the same issue and had to manually switch through the frame rates to find one that is not juddery.

Thanks for escalating this. I also noticed VS10 discards some HDR metadata.

My TV is a Samsung S95b - so has HDR+ support without DV. I had to disable all the VS10 output types except for SDR and DV (I'm assuming VS10 does a better job converting DV to HDR10 than the TV just stripping away the DV layer).

Maybe you're supposed to manually set the settings as I did. But it'd be nicer to have a help text/warning so that people don't accidently get a worse picture quality by enabling VS10 since VS10 is supposed to give nicer processing and people tend to enable such features.

if you use UHD8000 + ROON as a hifi network music system, the new 1.6 version is necessary. because this 1.6 provide full DSD 256/512 DAC support. IMG_0961.PNG
the DSD 256/512 format would be convert to PCM format in early version. IMG_0932.PNG

    I just tested HDMI 2 on my UHD8000 to a Denon - I don't have an A1HD, but I tried:

    UHD8000 Main HDMI > TV
    UHD8000 Audio HDMI > Denon AVR X7200W

No audio dropouts at all in Dolby Vision so I've still got no idea what's going on with your setup.

I assume because you're posting in this thread that you're on the latest firmware.

Are you using a custom EDID?

Does this happen with particular audio tracks - TrueHD, TrueHD Atmos, DTS, DTS-HD ? or is it all audio formats?

I also tried to do a factory reset twice but the problem remained the same. Hopefully they can fix this with the next firmware update.

Yes, I am using the latest firmware. The audio loss occurs with any track, be it Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, etc etc. I am not using any custom EDID. Would using a custom EDID solve the problem?

As I say, I can't replicate this at all.

You say it worked if you connect Zidoo > Denon > TV so why are you using the audio HDMI?

Why is the Denon AVC-A1HD not 4K HDR10 and Dolby Vision. It's an old 30kg flagship beast from 2010 and it's full HD 1080p with hdmi 1.4, so I'm stuck using both HDMI ports. Can you take a look at my edid and see if there's anything wrong?

I have just updated to this latest beta firmware.
I removed the audio delay from my Denon amp for this channel back to stock as it should be.
I have done two power cycles and power removal as suggested by others.

I can confirm as others have done, that True HD seems to be in sync now. My go to test is 'Aliens' which was way out of sync, but now seems good.

Someone else mentioned that DTS HD MA was still out of sync for them and in the super brief testing I did, it's also out of sync for me too.
I will do a bit more testing this evening to confirm.

Note: I am not using the new compatibility option.

When you upload any EDID to the forum, please change file name from .bin to .txt.
