    I have a test clip and can reproduce myself. I've already reported this but the clip will be sent when the devs get back.

    This may be overscan from the tv. I had to adjust one setting on my Sony TV internal settings for 720p or else it was overscanned and I lost part of the image.

    Yep - just realised that myself. Definitely overscan.

    Yes and an overscanned image isn’t just cutted, it’s zoomed so the entire picture is less good pq-wise. You definitely don’t want overscan.

    My Samsung also scales unevenly so aspect ratio is affected too - turn it off and 1280x720p is now perfect - You live and learn ;)

    I understood the mystery! It was overscan! Usually the first thing I do to a TV is disable overscan and in fact it was the same on the Panasonic. However, when I set the resolution to 1920x1080p 60 Hz, the TV still gave me overscan. Now everything works correctly. Thanks to you and Creator44 for the help!

    HI,
    sorry for the question from "the one who knows nothing".
    But if I connect the Zidoo Z9X 8K with a USB 3.xx cable or via (same) LAN to my Homatics 4K plus, does the "Zidoo Z9X 8K" recognize the connection and show me the content of the Homatics?.
    If the question is "too stupid", I delete it.
    Thanks
    Rudy

    Hi Mark, follows a description of the problem:

    With the player setup as follows:
    Configuration A.jpg Configuration B - VS10 for HDR10+.jpg

    I am getting the following behavior:

    file A: HDR10+ -> Player Output as HDR10 (right!)
    file B: DV + HDR10+ -> Player Output as SDR (wrong!)
    file C: DV + HDR10+ -> Player Output as SDR (wrong!)

    I have attached files A and B for your evaluation - (I had to zip the test files, due to a restriction for .MKV extensions)

    Attached Files:

    No, not a stupid question at all!

    You can't just connect the two with USB but you should be able to see the Homatics box on your LAN with the Zidoo if you connect both boxes to it.

    Right gotcha.

    I'll pass this onto the devs when they get back.

    Question:

    What HDR/VS10 format do you want to output from these files?

    SDR
    HLG
    HDR10
    HDR10+
    DV HDR10
    DV HDR10+

    In un altro "forum" mi hanno detto la stessa cosa...

    "Puoi provarlo, a condizione che gli indirizzi IP su entrambi i lettori siano impostati manualmente su un intervallo IP, ad esempio Lettore 1 - 192.168.0.1, Lettore 2 - 192.168.0.2"

    Quindi c'è la conferma...stessa rete LAN e indirizzo IP "diverso" di un "punto"?

    OK, procedo con l'acquisto!
    Grazie

    I would like the output to be DV HDR10 (same as I am getting for file A) - much appreciated! File A - HDR10+ with VS10.jpg

    As long as they are on the same LAN with IP addresses on the same subnet it should work. I'd definitely recommend static IP addresses.

    VS10 HDR10 for all modes?

    What about the UI?

    No changes to the UI behavior - I currently have UI as SDR, BTW.

    Is the 2:35 mode being added just a matter of time, or is that one still potentially in the air if we'll get it on these 8K's?

    So like this?

    UI > SDR

    SDR > VS10 HDR10
    HLG> VS10 HDR10
    HDR10> VS10 HDR10
    HDR10+> VS10 HDR10
    DV HDR10> VS10 HDR10
    DV HDR10+> VS10 HDR10

    I suspect the issue is that the player is getting confused on what to do when the file is both DV and HDR10+. I would prefer the player to prioritize the HDR10+ configuration/preference, which in my case is VS10 HDR10 processing:

    file A: HDR10+ -> Player Output as VS10 HDR10 (right!)
    file B: DV + HDR10+ -> Player Output as SDR (wrong!) -> should also be VS10 HDR10
    file C: DV + HDR10+ -> Player Output as SDR (wrong!) -> should also be VS10 HDR10
