That's what I was thinking but the Z9X Pro is in a way where the front is towards the wall not towards me. I guess there's a super bounce anyway even through a TV that is in front if it. I will put a cardboard on the front of the Z9X Pro to block the IR and see if it helps, thx.

AFR does not work in third-party applications (in 1 out of 5 for me it works). Developers need to add additional time to determine the frequency, since most online services do not immediately transmit video data.
As an option, I suggest adding an additional frequency detection button (a semi-automatic function will be obtained, as implemented in ugoos, for example)

IR signals bounce around the room, reflecting off walls etc - it is light after all.

Best way to block it is to put some electrical tape over the front window.

And what about the clip I sent?

There must be something you're not telling me about the setup because with the EDID you posted and the settings you're using, this behaviour is impossible.

The video you sent earlier shows 59.94Hz content being played at 23.976Hz.
The settings you show above shows 23.976Hz content being played at 59.94Hz.
That makes no sense at all if only the frame rate setting has changed from frame rate only to frame rate plus resolution and nothing else.

The only way to do that is with an extremely restricted EDID and even then I don't think I could replicate those two results at the same time with the same EDID.

At this point the only thing I can think of is a full factory reset.

@nebula far - ok, before you factory reset try using Custom EDID number 5 (4K60Hz BT.2020 HDR10).

It's a bog standard 600MHz HDR10 EDID with full audio.

I've put it on Custom EDID 4 since HDR+ is supported with my PJ.
I figured it does change the frame rate from 23.976 fixed to 24 (if the video is 24fps) but not to videos that require 25fps. From Auto res mode (60hz it always stays in 60fps. To get to 25 fps I need to manually switch the Zidoo resolution to 25 hz.

Your example file was played in 23fps

I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea what's happening here. What you describe cannot happen with the EDID you sent.

Long shot - You're not using Kodi or Plex or something similar are you??

I think the only other option is a full factory reset.

It doesn't work for me in Smartube. Try running a video in 60 fps and clicking the Info button, does it show 60 fps in the top left? I have 30 fps.

I tested SmartTube with a 4K 60 fps video and it played at 30. I then removed SmartTube from the 'Third-party frame rate whitelist' in Zidoo main settings and now plays 60fps OK.

If you remove Smartube from the whitelist, AFR will not work, only manual switching.

Full factory reset was done, the same problem remains...

No Kodi or Plex. Original Zidoo movie player.
