Yeah it's really awesome, I'm using Aerial View screensaver and it looks incredible!

My only issue now is that if I turn off the Zidoo, the hard drives are no longer accessible via Samba. This means I have to always keep the Zidoo on, but that also means the screensaver will consume tons of bandwidth all day long when I'm not using it. I'd like to request an option that keeps the hard drives accessible when the unit is off, like how the Nvidia Shield does it. Maybe add something like a "Standby" mode that turns off all functions except the Samba.

 

Hi, I've set the z9x 8k power on to standby mode and now my box cannot power on using either v11 or v12 remote control. I do not have this issue with z9x. Appreciate any help here ?

 

That's odd. I set mine to standby mode upon powering up and I have no issue after the update.

 

It's very strange. Not sure is it ok to press the reset button at the back to reset the device.

The usefulness, possibly for series, no more need to reload audio/subtitles each time.......for films, since I watched it once, I doubt it!
On the other hand, the little clock every 30 minutes suits me perfectly.

 

Unless there is a zidoo product release, and someone with the same name is all over the ( AVS) place ( and not in the most gentle manner when it comes to brand related contributions )

Roon Ready does not seem ready for prime time. It downsamples to 48KHZ and doesn't see any files as multichannel. This definitely needs work.

 

I just had 3 crashes/restarts. It was solved when I set the UI back from DV to sd.

 

An option in preferences to display/not display this feature could be nice. I understand that this could be convenient for some people but on the other hand, for people watching content in the same language 99% of the time, this is not really useful.

 

Roon doesn’t support multichannel playback

 

This is not true. I was able to play multchannel dsf files through my Eversolo DMPA-6 using it as a roon endpoint.

 

My mistake. I see that it does for devices that can accommodate multichannel. Apologies for my confusing comment.

 

Thanks for the suggestion. This screensaver is so much nicer than the default.

Annoying little thing: the WEB interface always comes back in Chinese, despite the settings in English!

 

I have many trailers that play very well in the file manager but not good in the posterwall.
In the poster wall the movie stops but sound continuous.

Not sure how much effort Zidoo will put into further improving the bluray engine. Dune seem to active encourage people to provide samples of problematic discs to keep there reputation of the best in the business at full bluray support. I don't know if Zidoo will spend the time to do that.
