I don't have an SSD storage yet. Is it ok to transfer some music files to the internal storage? What about using a USB flash drive? Will that work just as good as a SSD?
The eversolo's basic internal storage has a very limited capacity and personally I would not recommend using it for music storage. It's limited capacity is primarily designed to accommodate the operating system and any applications you might want to load. An external USB storage device is a sensible alternative to installing a SSD NVMe M.2 drive in the unit. Also external USB drives are less expensive per TB than SSD cards.
I have a 2TB SSD (WD Black Gen4 NVME) in my DMPA6ME/G1. Flawless. Formatted on my Windows PC, put my entire CD collection in FLAC format on there, installed in box. Works fantastic.
For ref - 2TB NVME on sale for $119, so not super expensive. (( I am using: WD_BLACK 2TB SN7100 NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280, Up to 7,250 MB/s - WDS200T4X0E [New Version] )
Ok, so I installed and formatted a SSD 2TB. The Eversolo is seeing it but on my PC (via home network) I'm only seeing the Eversolo internal storage. The SSD is not showing. Any ideas? I'd want to transfer music files from my PC to the SSD
I formatted the drive on my PC (I have a portable NVME 'dock'); copied files onto drive directly from PC, *then* installed the drive into the A6.
Ok thanks. That's a possibility also. I found another thread about this where they suggest connecting to PC with USB
I did it on my PC since the little dock I used was USB 3.2 gen2 (10mb/sec) vs 5/mb; and my library is 1.5TB. So, faster is better Good luck!
