I've already reported something about. Now I can confirm that since some month IR remote is not always responding as it shouls. Well. what happens is that usually, powering on X6 is always immediate and simply pointing roughly remte to X6. After boot up, moving in launcher sometimes is immediate, sometimes it doesn't respond at all. If blue led blink, X6 respond to commands, else no. Up to this is as espected, but even if I hold the remote steady in the orientation and distance when X6 receive commands, for example when any player starts, or if a intensive background activity is running in X6 itself (downloadin or installing updates, updating addon and so on), X6 doesn't receive commands any more. But, maybe after waiting from some seconds to some minutes, it receive again commands. This behavior is a lot erratic. Maybe during a whole video playing it always receive, or not. My doubt is that it depends on something related to PMU or IR receiver. Or power supply? Or something unweld or damaged on motherboard? I've checked if is possible to clone remote on a Philips Prestigo universal remote, but the strange thing is that after button programming (indeed hard to do, Prestigo has torubles to recognize, but at the end confirm OK) X6 does't receive neither one of yhe learned keys. So is not easy to check if instead is the IR remote that is failed or X6. Anyway, the leraning button on X6 IR remote and that I've programmed works perfectly and send commands to the TV that recognize them perfectly all the time. Controlling X6 via Airmouse works always (mine uses a wireless USB dongle), but for normal use is absolutely unhandy... To be complete in this report, at the beginning IR remote was OK (well, as reported from other, must be pointed to X6 in the right direction and with the right vertical angle (from a little higher point related to X6 itself), else is not "really OK") Any advice from Zidoo? May be something in FW influence also IR receiver and/or PMU? Thanks in advance.
Hello. I have the same results with the remote. TV works ok all the time. box sometimes does not( like 10 % of commands dont make the led blink ). This is also noticeable when you use the cursor, and hold down the movment keys. Even if you hold the remote steady, sometime the command brakes. And the led stops blinking. I think is the plastic lens in front of the reciever/the reciever in the box that has problems, and not the remote. i did a test where i put the remote and box on a flat surface, face to face about 10 cm apart. All the commands went trough this time with no problems. P.S. i can point the remote towards the ceiling, or backwords. The tv will pick it up
So is X6 that is becoming old and deaf ? Zidoo? any advice? Is it possible to change the plastic lens (or semitransparent small window in front of X6) with the current one (fresnel ?), if it solves this problem and you make it available in some way? Or any other advice? Even some DIY (Do It Yourself, I don't know if chinese translator know this achronym) ??? Thanks.
How? IR receiver is embedded into X6, and stricly integrated with PMU. A idea: I'll look around for an IR repeater. Could be a solution.
There is a MCU in receiver. You push the button on remoter，then the led of receiver blink. I think this process have nothing to do with software system. If the led don't blink, the problem only localized to both remoter and receiver. If you wish, you could try to open the box and adjust the direction of the receiver's little bulb. It May help.
I suppose MCU is another name of the PMU. OK, yesterday (night) I've ordered a cheap (5 €) IR repeater, when it arrive I'll try with it (sender has to be sticked over the internal IR sensor, hard to give them a stroger IR signal !!!) I'll look around for photos of X6 opened to locate exact IR receiver position. I don't want (yet) to open my device to prevent make void sellers warranty. Thanks!
Never seen before! Nice! But costs more. And I'm not sure if it can Power Off and Power On from Power Off our X6. And Stand-by state is not the same as power off. I never put mine in Stand-by. Maybe I'll buy it as an "auto-gift" to play around... Thanks!
probably the IR sensor is connected to the power chip. Did you try to wake it up with a wireless remote ? Also try a keyboard to see it it wakes it up ( i'm lazy ). Flirc works like a keyboard. translating IR beam to key pres
My current Wireless Keyboard, Rii mini I24, has power button, but pressing it, display flash to black and then return exactly as it was. I think it pass to stand-by and back to power on.
well don't know about Rii mini . But there are air mouse out there that also have IR blaster. and are able to record several IR presets. that's what my plan is to get. and have wifi air mouse + record zidoo ir remote + recort TV ir remote.
Update (not good): received IR repeater, but it don't work. Checked it using smartphone camera (almost all are sensible to IR, and shows a white/bluish dot facing a IR emitter (also optical fiber, very intense, I use this behavior to do rough O.F. networl tests) but with ir remote shows weak bluish flashes. Well, repeater seems not receiving any comand, or at least not sending, repeater emitter is always dark on any side, also sending commands with other IR remotes. Very, very bad, a cheap device but unreliable (there are two of the in the bag, even ordered only one, and both don't work). Anyway, X6 blindness appears very often, tipically starting a video play, and may return responsive after a while. Indeed very disappointing. Original X6 remote send something, the smartphone camera test shows blink. Is X6 itself that has some intermittent malfunction. Zidoo, what can I do? TIA for any attention.

Smokey34, seems a wireless remote, not (also) an IR remote. Right? If true (only wireless), it can't power off and the power on X6, it can put it on standby and then on (if the right button is mapped/configured) Anyway thanks, a new working accessory is always welcome!
Rii I13, Rii k25 , mele f10 , MX3, T3, etc. pick one of those and you are done ( all have IR learning )

Hello All, I use x6 for a couple of days only and I noticed the same narrow IR range. What I did was that I put the device on the TV stand so it is a bit tilted and pointing slightly upwards (stand is about 3-5 cm high) This improved the reception significantly.
since 1.0.39 zidoo is reacting on a remote which i use for sockets if i use the socket remote zidoo is changing the video frequency the other device with older firmware is not reacting in a way like this maybe there is anything wrong with the last firmware?!?
